Leupold Rifleman 4-12x40mm Riflescope

I purchased this Leupold scope to replace a Nikon 3x9x40 which I didn't really care for, to mount on my .260 Remington rifle. First off, WOW! The image is amazingly crisp, clear, and the reticle is better than the Nikon's reticle- especially for hunting. I really appreciate the low profile of the turrets, and I think they give the rifle a much more sleek, refined look than tall turrets. And this scope allows me to hunt in far lower light than the Nikon scope (to be fair, it is an older Nikon scope).This is by far the best scope for the money I have ever used, or found. Buy it- you'll love it!Oh, and when I purchased this, I also purchased the Leupold Alumina Flip Back Lens Cover Kit-40Mm And Standard Ep 62990. They screwed into the lenses perfectly! You're already buying the scope- get the Alumina covers. Don't go for the cheap slip-on plastic covers- trust me on this. Been there, done that. Once you give the Alumina covers a try, I guarantee you'll be looking to get them for the rest of your Leupold scopes.

Perfect scope for my whitetail rifle (Remington 700 .308). I was using a leftover, higher-powered tactical scope that was definitely overkill for hunting and wanted something more suited for deer hunting. Out of the box, I immediately noticed how much clearer this scope is, as to be expected from Leupold. Every single thing I pointed it at looked crisp and crystal clear, from 20 yards to 500. I also love the friction dials for the windage and elevation. No clicks limiting your adjustment, so it's infinitely fine-tunable. I took my rifle to a 100-yd range and was drilling 1-inch groupings within 20 rounds once I got it dialed in. The two rounds in the pic that missed the diamond were simply sloppy shooting - improper breathing. This was the second target I fired 10 rounds at, and the 5 shots at the bottom were the last 5 I fired that day. I'm very pleased with this scope!

I have always been distracted by the lower models of Leupold scopes not having solid clicks in their windage and elevation adjustments. The adjustments are held by smooth friction. Therefore resetting after a misadjustment is just a guess.. Just Leupold's old ways. Otherwise this scope is adequate for the money spent.

I got two of these for two AR15s, both flat tops with quad rails. I mounted them with the Nikon 223 one pieced scope ring setup. I took both rifles to the ranget his morning with the new Leopold scopes to zero them in at 50 yards. I am well pleased with the clearness, duplex crosshair, and method of adjusting the zero including the adjustable outside loop that allows you to mark your zero point on the scope. The eyepiece is adjustable for both near and far sighted persons with a locking ring on the eyepiece. I was able to see the bullet holes in the target at 50 yards with the scope without using my spotting scope, thanks to the clarity of the 12 power on this nice scope. Mounts easily. My only gripe was the relative slowness of Opticsplanet Inc in getting my $550 order to me, which took almost a week. The Leopold name holds up to its reputation with this crystal clear optic scope.

Nice little scope. I've owned it for about 2 years and have had it mounted on several different rifles. It's currently on my CZ 527 in 7.62x39. It's light, but has enough magnification for hitting steel out to 200-300 yards. I've also had it on my CZ 455 22LR and it worked well. At 50 yards with full magnification, I was able to zoom in and get tight groups.

Spot and stalk hunting here in Hawaii from dusk till dawn, no problems. Has taken many deer, even had it fall about three feet onto solid rock and it held zero, fired hundreds of 30-06 rounds with no issues.

It’s a Leupold...made in the USA with a lifetime warranty. Own several and this one fits and looks nice mounted on my DPMS AR10 243 Win. Everything I expect with a Leupold optic at an affordable price.
