Inexpensive Performance
Was a little nervous getting the less expensive phone camera microscope, but I needn't have worried, as this little device works very well. It just clips right on the phone case and over the camera lens, and instantly turns your phone into a digital microscope. It took me a second to figure out it's easier to zoom by doing so on the phone than via the zoom function on the microscope. But once I did, I was seeing trichomes by the thousands in great detail right on my phone screen.

Cheap price, cheap product, valued appropriately
This is a very cheaply built toy that barely works, but it does work. I found it very difficult to use with the LG G4 phone but was eventually able to get an image that was OK. Once I was able to get a focus lock I could see that the lenses are filthy and I haven't figured out how to clean the phone facing side so images are are pretty bad. Fortunately these things are cheap - value received.

Not worth it
The price should have been the first clue. As a geologist, I use hand lenses and microscopes all the time. This thing simply doesn't work as advertised.1. The clip doesn't stay put. This is a problem if you need to focus the device.2. It doesn't focus. Moving the focusing barrel just . . . moves the focusing barrel. There was no change to the image through the lens.3. Speaking of the image . . . there wasn't one. Not really. I have an iPhone 10 and the opening for the eyepiece on the device is too small and doesn't cover the iPhone's camera lens. Both photos were taken of a piece of tourmaline next to a quartz crystal. First photo is what I see with the devise over the camera lens. Focusing doesn't change a thing. Second was using my trusty Belomo 10x hand lens; I put the lens against the iPhone's camera lens and snapped the image. This "microscope" is being returned.

Reasonably priced for what it is- be patient figuring out how to use it
We bought this for my daughter's science fair project, and overall, I was quite pleased with the results. A few notes for the average user:1) The lens basically needs to be on the item to be able to focus it. It took us awhile to figure out exactly how to get a clear image, and I have used microscopes in the past (although not ones that attach to a phone case).2) It is small and lightweight so it could be easily tucked in a pocket for a nature hike. (But keep #1 in mind, you aren't going to be able to lower this thing on to an insect, for example, without finding one that doesn't mind basically being covered with the lens.3) The magnification is not high enough to see micro-organisms. We had looked up the required magnification previous to purchasing this, so we knew ahead of time, but don't think you are going to be able to purchase this to take a look at bacteria or anything.4) For what you get, it's pretty reasonably priced.(The included picture is of a bacterial culture grown in a petri dish.)

Science Teacher approved!
I am a biology major and have been teaching middle school science for 26 years. I saw an add for a Microscope magnifier for an iPhone and thought I would check it out. I saw some great review and some terrible reviews, including for this one. I bought three styles and two arrived today. This works great. If you have never used a microscope before it might be a bit of a struggle at first to focus in the image, but this one was fairly easy to use. It is much more compact, so not as awkward to use use as the other style, but does not magnify as much as the other. That being said, I will be buying more of these and letting my students tell me their opinion. I have collected several old iPhones for students to use in classroom labs. The photo attached was taken with an old iPhone 4 (with a cracked screen, but no damage to the camera area). This is a close up of Lincoln on the back of a 2013 $5 bill using this magnifier. I definitely recommend this at this price.

"Universal" but for Specific Model Phones
I purchased this microscope with hopes of easing trichome analysis, but unfortunately I wasn't able to accomplish this due to the obstruction detection feature on the iPhone 13 Pro. Essentially, the iPhone detected the clip-on microscope as an obstruction and would switch to one of the other lenses.Giving the seller a fair shake, overall the clip-on design is solid and securely attaches to the phone allowing for easy focus adjustment without risking accidentally moving the lens. Of the few photos I managed to capture before my phone switched lenses, the magnification quality was exactly what I needed. If you're looking for an easy way to analyze trichomes for ripeness and have a smartphone that does NOT have an obstruction detection feature, then this microscope will be perfect for you!Ultimately, I returned the microscope as I believe this mistake was my misreading of the word "Universal". Future buyers should take note that although the product title states "Universal", it continues with specific model phones as these models lack the obstruction detection feature.

Cheap, doesn’t work with every phone, and zoom is lame and hard to use
It functions but only in a specific way. I mean that it did not work with my phone (iPhone 10). It feels very cheaply made and the zoom is hard to control or manipulate. Other models allow you to specifically dial in the zoom amount. This one however just involves you pulling out the lens to fluctuate zoom

Super OK, it's hard to complain because of how cheap this was to buy but you get what you pay for I guess. The construction is super cheap and it's rather hard to get it to focus on most things.
