These were the PERFECT solution to a computer desk that I purchased that came with plastic wheels which broke the first day. After searching the local hardware/home stores to no avail, Amazon once again proves the place to find anything and everything. The threaded studs on these are M8-1.25 which is a standard metric coarse thread (8mm = 0.3149") which is close to a 5/16-18 thread size just for reference. Since these were the exact thread size I needed, they screwed right in and I tightened them with a crescent wrench. Simple. The wheels appear to be high density rubber and very strong, the wheel frames are formed sheet metal and VERY rigid. Ball-bearings for swivels and two come with brakes. The axles are steel bolts with self-locking nuts. My computer desk with all my stuff on it now glides around the house as if it was on air whether on carpet or hard flooring. Easy to position into tight spaces and then locks down for a stable platform once positioned where you want it. Very happy with this purchase and this product. Highly recommend for anyone struggling with crummy plastic wheels. Keep these in mind next time you purchase something with those plastic wheels and swap them out on day one.

We regularly buy casters for various projects and our home shop. For the price these could not be beat even after hunting and comparing on eBay. Casters, even small ones are routinely at least $5 a piece. My husband built a welded steel cart for our large, heavy printer and used these as the casters. They work great and look nice. The locking feature is a bonus that may not be needed for some folks. Lastly, having wheels which are bolted in, rather than having a stamped in non-removable bolt, also allows for wheel changes in the future if ever needed. Also consider that stem casters compared to plate casters are less work to install as plate casters require 4 bolts or 4 screws per wheel. Stem are just 1 each!

Worked great to move my stand mounted chop saw with wood stretchers, but was not sufficient for my stand mounted table saw since the 8mm shaft was too small for the hole in the mounting locations. The nuts at the bottom of the threaded shaft also keep the wheels from hitting the support plate which is an issue for metal but can be overcome with a countersink if using wood stretchers. Very reasonable price and fast shipping from seller.

Everything about these swivel wheels looks and feels solid. Quality construction.And by golly, when you lock the brake, it's locked! That wheel isn't going to turn no matter what you do. Which is exactly what you want.Note: You'll find installation easier if you have a super-thin metric wrench to hold the large nut while you tighten the nut on the stem.I wish, though, that the company would offer these sets:1. A set of four with brakes on all four wheels.2. A set of four with two non-swiveling wheels and two wheels with brakes.

Got tired of replacing expensive hard shell suit cases due to the cheap plastic casters breaking. I purchased these casters for another project that took a different direction, so I decided to fit them to a suitcase that I would otherwise throw in the trash due to a broken wheel. I will say, these are the smoothest casters I've ever had on a suit case. They are slightly larger than typical suitcase wheels, so may not be suitable for carry-on cases, but they are well suited for larger luggage where there is no concern of fitting into overhead bins.

These wheels are stable enough and well constructed, but I bought them for the brakes. I have them on the underside of a TV cabinet so that we can roll away the TV (we want a reading room most of the time, and only get the TV out for movies and the like). I want the brakes to actually stop the cabinet from rolling, but one of them doesn't work very well; the wheel still rolls, but with a bit more resistance.Still very affordable, and I'm not disappointed with the purchase as my local hardware stores have nothing this small with brakes.

I purchased a mobile desk from the Container Store. The desk and hydraulic system were all top notch, but the wheels were the pits and would not roll. With a stroke of luck, I was able to measure the size of the screw on the wheels and found these wheels which completely solved the problem! These wheels are excellent! Uxcell should make a deal with the Container Store to provide them wheels for their products... the 50 cent wheels with the kit were worthless. Thanks!

These wheels are great! I purchased two sets for my Table Sander and my Jointer/Planer stands. They were easy to install and both tools glide around my workshop like sliding on ice. Really, really smooth. They are perfect for what I needed them for. I will be buying more as the need arises.

love this little wheels they roll well in any direction the wheels are touch, the brakes work very well. Simple yet elegant in a sweet mechanical sort of way.
