Q: Does anyone have experience with how this will work in high heat conditions such as 100 deg. F, high humidity and direct sunlight on the doors/jamb?

I used this on my car which sits out in direct Texas sunlight every day. Seems to be good so far.

Q: If I install this on my apartment door, can I smoke inside and not worry about the smell seeping into the building hallway?

this item is great for the sides and top, but i would recommend you to quit smoking than there wouldn't be smoking anywhere to worry about.

Q: I've got a couple really smalls gaps in an outdoor shed between the door and frame. Will this close them up to keep out bugs and the weather?

Depends on the gap and how flush the finish of each part is. Should work for nominal weather stripping, but will not replace flashing above a door to keep water out directly.
