Giderwel Smart WiFi LED lights
We’ve had a couple of sets of similar light strips before, but always ended up losing the remote control, so we bought this LED strip from Giderwel as its operated through an app. It was a doddle to connect the lights to the WiFi network, and the app worked perfectly first time. The app gives a huge amount of control over the hue, the pattern and brightness. My main criticism would be that the font on the instruction pamphlet is so small that it is barely legible, however it was so easy to connect that it wasn’t really a problem. It is possible to connect to more than one Giderwel product too, so if you had more than one set, the app could control all of them. There may be a market for different coloured backing strips – they all seem to be white, although that suits us.These lights are ideal for anyone who wants a bit more control over their LED strip, and doesn’t want to have to mess around with a remote control. We are happy, these lights work exactly as they should.

These lights are really good! Like REALLY good.
The media could not be loaded. These lights are noticeably better than other strip lights I have used. The lights are bright and having a large power supply means they can be extended and added onto other strip's which is nice. The controller they are shipped with works with Magic Home Pro which means they have good support and easy integration with Google Home and Alexa. The connection between the controller and the strip has a connection lock on it so it doesn't fall out like cheaper led strip lights meaning less fiddling around with it.While the adhesive isn't 3m, it is really sticky even on a surface with a low adhesion value. The kit also comes with some plastic clips that can be used to ensure the strip is kept up.HoightSo in conclusion, this is a really well thought out product and couldn't recommend enough.

not impressed
Very disappointed in all aspects of this product. It is difficult to pull the backing off and when you do it is not very sticky. The app is buggyThe addressable aspect is gimmicky and i doubt will be hardly usedThe range of colors seem limited, subtle changes look the same or dull. The dimming worked well and full green and blue seemed well saturated. Not worth the premium, save your money and buy a cheaper strip

Good for Alexa and sound to light
The media could not be loaded. These lights are installed around the bar in our playroom. They were delivered next day neatly packed in a strong silver bag. They are very bright and have strong colours in fact I have them set to 30 percent solid red and they are just right as a backlight at that setting. The Alexa controls work well and the sound to light is good. This function uses the phone microphone and the app must be running.I did have problems with the lights when I first set them up, the last few LEDs on the strip did not respond the the App control, Giderwel were very helpful and pointed me to the setup step I had missed. As soon as the LED count was changed from 50 to 90 the strip lit up and worked perfectly..These lights drew too much power from the USB socket on my Sony TV which caused a "high power device" warning. I would need to use a separate supply to use these behind the TV.Pros: Bright, strong colours, Alexa control and Customer serviceCons: You might need a separate power supply for use as TV backlight. App and phone needed for sound to light.

Not individually controllable!
3 stars because it says “individual controllable”... i was browsing for hours looking for a led strip with the ws811 or ws812 chipset to be able to control every segment of LEDs seperatly. The app for this LED strip is not capable of doing that. There are presets that make them go rainbow etc. But who needs that... the presets can be modified in color and speed but having a static amount X of segments hued one color and the others another one is not possible with this set. You can create sequences with the app inserting multiple edited presets but going from an animated chaser preset to a fading effect of one color back to a chaser does not work properly.

Great Dreamcolour strips and made easy to chain together
I purchased a fee Dreamcolour WS2811 5m kits to replace 13m of RGB 5050 lighting strips. The RGB kit has been troublesome with uneven shades between strips of the same type and vendor, even with adequate PSU, power injection along the strip and RGB amplifier.Thankfully the dreamcolour strips did not require anything other than a high power PSU to light up 13m.The strips themselves have interconnects on both ends as well as Jack socket for power injection which takes out a lot of the guess work when it comes to chaining strips together and that is a really nice touch. The 5m strip is actually 10 50cm strips soldered together, but the strips may be cut every 10cm. The blocks ofnled's are.numbered L1 to L15 and it wasn't clear if these had to run in sequence when joining, but it turns out that's not the case, so if you make a cut at.say L5, you can join a new strip which begins at L1 and the lights will still function in the correct sequence. Of course if you do cut these and subsequently make a join you will have to solder on a 3 pin connector (available in bulk packs cheap from Amazon!)There appears to be some misinformation about Dreamcolour LED strips which implies that you can link loads together and just require a large PSU at one end, which most likely will fry the controller. In actuality you need.to connect power at intervals along the strip. For my project just one additional point worked adequately but at a guess I would say one connection every 10m. As mentioned, the Jack sockets on the strips make this easy. This can be split from a single power supply (a third party one as the supplied ones probably only have sufficient power for 5m).Once connected the light ana colours are even across the strip, even at 13m! As mentioned in other reviews the Dreamcolor "pixels" are blocks of 3 LED's.In conclusion this is a very nice kit which is easily chained to longer lengths, and only minor criticism is the controller which loses its identity and wifi credentials if powered off for long enough, but the strips themselves are great.
