Review: All-Time Favorite Austen - I have enjoyed this book in the many forms it has been presented, especially with Colin Firth playing Mr. Darcy. However, the novel is to me the best. Austen describes her characters and their foibles with so much humor that gets cut from the film versions due to time constraints. What a waste. This book is definitely worth the extra time it takes to actually read it.

Great Read!
I've read this a number of times and each time I enjoy it more and more! So much to think about regarding human nature and relationships - always good to confront our own feelings and reactions and how those impact our lives and the lives of others. Timeless!

most beloved book of 2018?
I wanted to read the most beloved book of 2018. It did not disappoint. Even though it was written in a different century, the ideas live on.

A classic.
Loved the book. Disliked the reading platform. The ebook was not available on Overdrive. It was great fun reading this novel-a must for Jane Austen fans.

Language not usually heard these days.
I liked that the language used was unusual in modern English, but understandable and elegant.

Stunning portrayal of domestic delicacies in life circa 18th century shire.
Ever full of sparkling observation and wit, it was been over 20 years since I last revisited Austen. I couldn't put it down. What a delight to reread in one's 40s.

Read only the original!
I had watched the several "Pride and Prejudice" versions created for television, none of which do the book any justice whatsoever, and found myself with a craving to once again read the original book. Wonderful!

I cannot give enough credit to such a story as this, it's not a pretentious book, nor a simplistic unappealing story, it's just what it is, a really well written comedic romance with very likeable a set of characters. Mature and standing to the test of time, this book not only is a great past time with which you could lighten your thoughts but also a sly introspective look into ourselves and our surroundings. I hope many people will get to experience this incredibly tortuous elopement. The penguin never fails me, nice touch there at the ending. Yours, &c.

I'm ashamed to say I'd not read a Jane Austen novel however I decided to after reading a novel called the Jane Austen book club and it piqued my fancy. I chose Pride And Prejudice as this was their favourite in the "Book Club" novel. At first I thought it a bit laboured, Miss Austen thoroughly describes everything and everything is done correctly and I just wanted her to get on with it. I kept reading and realised what a clever, clever author she really is as the slow build up to what I can only describe as the most romantic love story I've ever read, had me jumping off my seat in absolute joy when it finally concluded and Elizabeth and Mr Darcy sealed their love. What a story, what an ending - how things haven't really changed all that much since 1813 - I love her expression "I own what I say" - how current is that? I watched the TV version with Colin Firth as Mr Darcy and Jennifer Ehle as Elizabeth Bennett, both stellar performances. I am now about to read everything I can get my hands on in regards to Jane Austen.

A long time favourite of mine. I love the way Austen writes women and so many of the themes and conversations stand the test of time and can easily be related to by the modern day reader. I like this edition the best out of those available for Kindle. Once you’ve chosen your fonts, there are no major typos or formatting errors to distract the reader.

200 years old and still as wonderful. I have a hardback copy of this book and have read it before but with all the publicity, I wanted to read it again and I thought reading Jane Austen on kindle was a lovely juxtaposition of the modern world and days gone by. So therapeutic to emmerse yourself in Elizabeth Bennets' world for a little while each day.
