Great trick and easy to master
This is a GREAT and easy magic trick to get for young kids. My son loves it, mastered it easily and had classmates all around him at school when he brought it in for show and tell. The rubberband doesn't last too long but it came with spares. There is a learning curve getting it on the quarter but a hint is using outside snap ring pliers to spread it out and over the quarter.

Mine came used and unusable until I "restored" it.
If you're viewing this item I'll assume you know how it works or will find out soon - so I'm not worried about spoiling anything. This is an awesome trick, and one every magician, grandpa, and cool uncle should own. Takes some practice, but works very well. I'm only giving it 3 stars because for some reason I was sent an obviously used one, with lots of gunk and old pieces of broken rubber band in the grooves. I had to spend a considerable amount of time digging out all the yuckiness with a knife before it was usable. It's fine... I got it there, but I just figured I was getting a new (or at the very least clean) unit. I have not seen other reports when browsing the reviews, so you'll likely have better luck than me. Don't let that be a deterrent, but I thought it was worth mentioning.

Great gimmick, angles could be a problem.
First off i was very impressed by the construction of this gimmick. It's made from a real quarter so there's no difficulty in passing it off as the genuine article and it comes with 4 replacement elastics. You can show the front and back of the gimmick without raising any suspicion, the sides may raise suspicion if observed for more than a second though, and you can not hand this out for examination. If you're doing the trick with a borrowed quarter you may have to stick to showing only the face. Mine is fashioned from one of the 50 states quarters so there is a very high chance that the back will not match the borrowed quarter. If you think your spectator is familiar with the quarter they've provided it's safest to only display the face of the gimmick. The way the bite piece is manufactured it's quite possible that you could 'tip the gaff' if you don't tilt it back slightly and/or display it for a long time or at many angles after the bite has been taken out. It seems this is meant to be performed quickly and without much spectator examination. This is a good first trick for anyone (especially older children)who has an interest in magic. It's a good motivator to get good at the shuttle pass, it teaches the principles of misdirection, gimmicks and spectator management all while being very easy to perform. it's a very visual trick and plays very well to a lay audience.

Wow anyone you see with an easy trick!
This trick was the simplest one to learn in my repertoire. When done properly you will have everyone begging you to tell them how you did it. I purchased 2 and took the bitten piece from the one in order to give my audience that extra wow factor. As you go to blow the quarter back to normal you can push the piece into your bottom lip and it seems as if you have actually blown the piece in your mouth to the quarter. I would suggest, as another reviewer has, that you get some extra bands although my quarters came with extras. You can get around 50 trials per band. I would also suggest getting a normal quarter to allow the audience to view prior to performing the trick. This is great for family functions, kids birthdays, bars, actually it's so easy to conceal you can do it anytime you want to amaze someone. I definitely recommend the purchase.

Very poor
Worst folding coin I've ever bought. The cuts are nothing like the picture very poor design. It's cheesy, not a real quarter and a very poor copy. The listing says professional quality. No, it isnt. Not even close. One especially looks like Washington had his head crushed. I'm posting a pic. I'm returning these. Ridiculous.

Neat trick, good quality
Great gift for my 8 year old nephew who is into magic. He can put on the rubber band himself, and the quarter is surprisingly well done - the seam between the pieces can barely be seen even upon close inspection.I recommend you buy the extra rubber bands now rather than waiting. The only goofy thing was, in the picture, the edge appears jagged but the description says "teeth mark" edge. What we received was indeed a "teeth mark" edge, although nobody's teeth look like that, they were pretty exaggerated swoops. Like cartoon teeth took a bite out. Something in between what we received and the straight jagged edge in the picture would be more realistic, but my expectations weren't that high.

Great starter piece
My nine year old son has a huge interest in doing magic so I bought this quarter for him to start with. He practiced and come up with a routine using some slight of hand techniques borrowing a real quarter. He has really used this product as a seed to learn other tricks and found other ways to use this coin in other tricks. I do suggest buying a pack of extra rubberbands with this coin because they do not last very long if it is used a lot. The quarter is machined very nicely and certainly is well worth the money.
