Worked perfectly and easy to install
I did some research and found that this igniter is the newer model (less wattage) and isnt suppose to burn out as quick. I had the installer do the first replacement at a cost of almost $300. I looked up an installation video on-line and did this one myself for about $45 (including overnight shipping). If it goes bad I'll order two so I dont have to wait for it to be shipped over-night to me again. I am very happy with it.With oil furnaces you have to replace filters, nozzles and occasionally the electrodes. Everything wears out, so what!I heat 1736 sq. ft of my house with two pellet stoves, and keep the temp at 72*. I live in Upstate New York where the winters can be very chilly. Tonights forecast is for single digit temps and negative single digits for the weekend overnights. It costs me about $1300 per year with pellets. It would normally cost me between $3000 & $4000 to heat with oil...I'll spend $50 every couple yearsThis is a good product. Go on-line and find the video on how to replace it (very easy with the Mt Vernon AE insert) and replace it yourself. You will become a little more self-reliant and save some money in the process. Rob

***WARNING**** DO NOT BUT THIS JUNK!!!!
I purchased this igniter for a Quadrafire Mount Vernon AE pellet stove. I installed it and the stove worked for less than 12 hours. Woke up to a brutally cold house in the morning. Upon checking i observed a blowout in one of the tubes and contacted Pellethead. (See attached images of defects) They heard the problem and sent me a new igniter under their warranty program. When the second one arrive I immediately installed it without any luck. No ignition. Everything else work but it wouldn't ignite.I contacted the company and was referred to their technician. Unfortunately I do not recall his name at the moment, but he took his time to explain what could be the problem and how to check. He directed me to the left side of the machine nearest the control board. He explained on how to remove the board from the rear of the machine, and also explained all wire units can only fit into one specific connection. There is no was to get it wrong. He then continued to provide instructions on checking the fuses. If the fuse nearest to the plug for the igniter was popped that would prohibit the igniter from warming up. Recommened changing the fuse and if that did not work the only thing left would be the control board. Unfortunately it was both the fuse and the control board which was immediately ordered. When it eventually arrived, I was able to plug and play within 15 minutes. The stove has been working for approx. 14 days now with out any issues.I contacted their customer service and was advised by an unknowledgeble young lady that the issue is most likely the thermo couple. I informed her that was not the case since the machine is completely working now that I changed the control board. The company would only agree to return the original price for the igniter and nothing else.****Here is the important part of this story. These igniters are NOT OEM certified. There are numerous complaints listing similar problems / issues and they have done nothing to correct. Thankfully the fuse and the original control board from the manufacturer worked as designed. It appears the fuse blew rather forcefully due to the thick filament pushed the glasses to where it was bulging out. If these items did not work as designed I strongly believe the electrical short would have traveled through the outlet, into the walls potentially starting a fire in the walls. Since it was in the middle of the night G*D only knows what could have happened and what the final result could have been with my entire family sleeping during the time of the short.People , please use common sense. If there are numerous complaints about a specific item, DO NOT BUY IT!! Pay the extra money to save yourself a headache later on. I paid $766.00 for a new control board without any installation costs ($250.00). They blamed the issues on additional parts without even asking if the machine is running. This is a Garbage product and some useless employees who arenot wiiling to work with a client.

Great
Works like a charm. Bought two so If this one goes out unexpectedly, as they do, I will have one on hand. This works and connects just like the original. Will see if this holds up longer than the higher wattage original. Seems to ignite the pellets just as fast as the original did. Easy installation.

Quadra-Fire 300 w igniter
I have 2 Quadra-Fire Mt Vernon AE stoves. Both of them lost their igniters at about 3 years of service. I purchased this product to replace them, and the replacements have performed perfectly for the last 2.5 years. They were very easy to install once i realized that you should spray the area with penetrant ( I used blaster ) to ease removal. I recently purchased two more to have on hand if the replacements should die. Their durability is entirely determined by frequency of use. The stoves are my only source of heat, so are in almost continuous use up here in my beloved mountains.I recommend this product.

Get this ignitor
I was going through ignitors like crazy with the 380 watt ignitor. I couldn't make it through the season without a replacement. I bought a 2 pack of these 300 watt ones in 2012. Just now, I had to install the 2nd one. So the first one lasted almost 6 years. To be fair, I also had upgraded my burn pot and I know that made a huge difference over the original one. The new burn pot allowed more direct contact with the pellets. I am not sure how it would run if I used the 380 watt with the new burn pot. I am tempted to try it, but I only burn wood pellets anyway so this one is fine.

Missed Ignition
Igniter is not hot enough to start the pellets. Sometimes it does start but more than likely will get "missed ignition" on Thermostat

Failed In 12 Hours
I have a Quadrafire AE Insert and the OEM igniter went yesterday so since I had bought 2 of these new igniters back in 2018 as a backup it was time for an install. Install went well, all looked good then in the middle of the night I became super cold. I realized the pellet stove wasn't working. The next morning I removed the igniter and it had two holes in it. Upon further investigation the fuse was blown out on the circuit board. The gift that continued to give....try pulling an insert out of the wall to do change the fuse on the circuit board and you will know what I mean. I am throwing the other new one in the trash as it is not worth another reinstall and removal only to install again. There is a reason to go OEM and I have learned my lesson, even if it is 3x the cost.
