The golden oyster mushroom spawn arrived on time, and the mycelium was white and healthy
I'm happy to have found a strain of golden oyster mushrooms for their choice edibility and their ability to grow on used coffee grounds, hardwood sawdust, or cereal grains. We soak our substrate overnight to kill off any bacterial/fungal competition then incorporate the spawn into micro filtered grow bags using latex gloves. We also use a large plastic storage container with lid to act as a humid forest like environment. And we find between 60°-70° is optimal, preferably near a window to get natural cycles of light. Our kids enjoy the scientific aspect of watching mycelium convert different substrates into edible fruiting bodies and my partner and I love sauteed mushrooms, jalapenos, onions and butter with scrambled eggs. Thanks Mushroom Rush!

No growth
I've been growing mushrooms and have a small fruiting room. Using straw method. Everything as usual but no growth for these mushrooms. Just would not fruit.

The Spawn is as expected
This was my first time trying to grow mushrooms. I tried a multitude of methods to grow it. After a couple weeks, my jar substrate showed mycelium growing and I am still hoping some fruiting bodies grow from it. As of now I have 1 jar that is showing promise without contamination from mold. I think it was my mistakes that caused my many attempts to fail so far. I hope to try again soon with another batch of spawn.

Mycelium arrived alive from west coast
This was my first time growing from spawn, so I tried this in different places on different substrates. There's a bit of a steep learning curve when trying to grow mushrooms, I'm finding. The spawn didn't take everywhere, but it is spreading out nicely in a mixture of coffee grounds, sawdust and some rotten wood that I had sterilized with some boiling water. Can't wait to watch the mushrooms grow out of the holes in the pot, almost there now. I tried to grow it in some rotten logs, stumps, and compost piles, but nothing took there. I would try this with hardwood chips next time or as a plug in a log, but in hardwood trees only. It took about a week for the product to get here from California to NY, but it turned out to be ok.

spawn looked good but didnt colonize substrate at all.
grain spawn looked good and well developed. added to a grain/vermiculite substrate and it just never grew. Might be user error. idk.
