This was wonderful! I used it with my class. The instructions and supplies made it possible for me to do this experiment without killing the caterpillars/butterflies. (I wasn't so sure I could do that). We thought the caterpillars had not made it because the cocoons looked dry/withered for days. We left them alone, though, and were all excited when we arrived at school one day to find two butterflies in the net. Then within an hour or two, another one came out. Four of the five became butterflies. I imagine the other one would have, also, but may have been harmed accidentally by students trying to observe it and mishandling the jar or net. I highly recommend this product!

My goddaughter is absolutely obsessed with butterflies, so you can imagine how excited she was to receive this habitat for her birthday—she was over the moon! To her surprise (and delight), one of the butterflies even hatched on her birthday, which made it extra special. Every single one ended up hatching, and she released them in her backyard. It was fun, easy to set up, educational, and brought her so much joy. You can even order more cocoons to keep the experience going. Truly the perfect gift for any nature-loving kid!

Wow, what a fun activity for my kids to partake in and observe. We loved every stage of this. Right away the caterpillars all had names. We loved watching them grow bigger and then form their cocoon. One day when we came home from school to our surprise, all the butterfly’s had hatched! We put some fruit and water in right away and loved watching them stretch out their wings. Release day was the most magical and we laughed and giggled as we let them out into the flower garden and watched them fly away

I thought it would come with more caterpillar. There was only two included. My sons really enjoyed learning and watching the process.

This was a gift to my son's family and all absolutely LOVED this gift. All caterpillars grew from wee ones to healthy, well fed with much attention adults and all underwent metamorphosis and all butterflies were released to their organic garden. Son is thinking on gifting a few special classes next Spring if instructors approve. Many, many thanks and congrats on the amazing gift and subsequent enjoyment of family.

This was a gift for young girls in grades 5 and 9. They were delighted to see how their butterflies grew from larvae to fully grown butterflies. The kit included directions/guides and journals in which they recorded what they observed. They really enjoyed these kits. I would recommend to other grandparents or parents.

We purchased this butterfly kit for our granddaughter the kit was supposed to come with 5 caterpillars 🐛 but there were only 4 in the cup and only 3 are moving. So I would like to have 2 replaced so I can give a 5⭐️ review
