AWESOME! The compact size is great, good coverage & yet not too huge.
We stole a warm/sunny day in Feb (in the Northeast!) to install this...but forgot to take a picture before putting the winter cover back onto our truck camper! We are SO happy with this awning. It was really easy to install, and it's easy to both open & put away. Will give some nice sun AND rain covering this coming summer...really happy with it.

Great shade, but get ready to continually buy the bag.
Love the shade. Its great. However the way it secures in the bag, puts tension on the interior top of the bag, and I've now bought 3 of them. It just wont last longer than a year before it splits open at the top. The zipper is great, the materials are great, the design, puts the securing strap into the bag, not the backing plate. Bad design there. Its about $50 a year to keep it on the vehicle all the time in replacement bags.

Great awning easy set up
Set up pretty easily, took maybe 35 min. I used the mounts that came with the awning on my rhino vortex aero bars. The awning itself looks really nice when fully set up. The legs don’t seem to strong but very easy to set up. Haven’t actually used it camping yet will update review once we do so.

Don't buy this awning - bad customer service, too
I purchased a Rhino Rack batwing from E-trailers.I used it one time and had it fully staked down with their equipment and ropes - a mild 5-10mph breeze ripped the stakes out of one leg and then the other and flipped it over my vehicle. It broke two hinges, bent a support leg and a support arm. $150+ in damage just to the awning and scratches on my vehicle. The speed in which Rhino Rack cited "forces of nature" means this happens to a lot of people. There are better awnings out there that are made to hold up to mile breezes. I get these breaking in strong winds and storms, but a random afternoon breeze should not negate their cross staked legs and ropes. This is a crappy awning and you're paying for their marketing and name. Go search some overland forums for better options. This won't be what you think it'll be.

Generally a good awning but plastic hinges are weak
I was looking for a moderately priced 270 awning for my Jeep Wrangler and purchased the Rhino Rack Batwing. I've been using mine for almost a year and generally a fairly good awning providing decent rain and sun protection in a easy to set-up package. The real failing of these awnings is the weak hinge design. The plastic pivot points are designed to be the weak point and break before the awning support struts bend or the material tears in a high wind or if not tie-down and secured properly. These parts are easy to replace and not very expensive and can save damage to more expensive parts of the awning. The only problem is they are too weak and break very easily. If you are not very careful with setting up and taking down the awning you can easily break one. The good news is that you can replace them in the field without too much trouble if you have the spare parts. I'd strongly recommend you carry a couple of replacement pivots, they're not expensive and allow you to repair the awning.

Nice design - Poor materials
The Batwing has great coverage, installed on our teardrop trailer. The awning material is very nice, but I'd advise anyone to keep shopping as there are two major flaws in this awning:- the hinges for the poles break, which you can read about in every review with a 4-star or less rating- the poles on ours (twist to tighten setup) are failing. One will not tighten at all so it's taped, and another one is collapsing with any wind bouncing. When that happens the wing drops and can break the hinge.Customer service is quick to reply but only offered to sell me more failing poles.Keep shopping!
