A Solid Value
This is (imho) essentially the same umbrella that others on Amazon are charging up to double the price for, sans flashy fake chome details and such. It's strong, solid and is easy to open and close, although once you've collapsed it (with a touch of the same button on the handle used for opening it), you'll need to push the collapsed umbrella down toward the handle; this requires both hands because of the necessary spring tension for auto opening it each time. The fabric seems to be coated with Teflon for water repellency, and construction seems study for the most part. There is some minor rotational play noticeable only when you twist the handle while the umbrella is open, but I'm pretty sure that's a reflection of design/manufacturing limitations and not qualitative factors. It comes packaged in an acceptable card board box, but you might look at another more expensive model (or brand) if a gift box is is important to you. Overall, a solid and seemingly durable and reasonably compact umbrella right out of box. The zippered cover adds a nice touch of class.

Very nice umbrella!
What are you looking for in an umbrella? 1. Easy of operation. Check. This Tadge umbrella springs open with the touch of a button...and closes with another touch! 2. Good size. Check. This isn't your "golf" umbrella, but it also isn't some tiny umbrella that you'll be getting soaked under either! Great size for one (or two if needed). 3. Durability. Check. Well, so far, but it seems well made, has 10 of those little arm things in it and has a nice carrying case to go with it. All in all, this is a great umbrella and considering it's one of the least expensive ones I've seen, it's a great buy.

Very nice
This umbrella is not only windproof it is child proof. The umbrella worked well in light winds, strong winds aren't too common here, but it is also child proof. My child loves playing with umbrellas and normally manages to break the metal parts of the upper umbrella before I can get them to stop however with this one it stood up to them. No breaks yet after playing with it outside. I like the cover bag for the umbrella makes storing it in my car nice, also keeps the goop out of my car off the umbrella.

Definitely NOT windproof!!!
I am not completely dissatisfied with this umbrella, I did ALMOST get a year of use out of it. However, the manufacturer's claims of it being windproof is complete rubbish. As you can see from my photos the metal ribs are completely bent. Guess what caused that? You guessed it, the WIND!!! The bottom line is, I am not completely sure if a windproof umbrella exist. In light of that, don't spend $20 on an umbrella that you may only get 11 months of use out of. Just buy a cheap umbrella and just trash it when it gets to this condition.

Quality Built Product but Difficult to Open and Close
The Tadge Goods Windproof Travel Umbrella is a sturdy umbrella, and it appears to be a quality product. Sadly, we were disappointed that it was very difficult to open with the push button. My wife couldn't open it at all, and I had to squeeze mightily to open and close it one handed. We decided to stay with cheap umbrellas that we can easily open and close with one hand when exiting and entering our vehicles.

I just moved to Chicago and within my first few weeks it rained while on my walk to work. I opend by standard travel umbrella and within minutes a small gust of wind grabbed it and snapped two of the spines rendering it pretty useless. So upon searching Amazon I found the Tadge umbrellas with great ratings and a great price so I gave it a shot. I've only used it twice but I can already tell it's much more sturdy than any of my previous umbrellas and the Teflon coating allows rain to just flow right off and easily shake off any remaining drops. I would highly recommend this product and will probably buy additional when my other umbrellas suffer the same fate in succumbing to Chicago's weather.

5 stars
This is a good umbrella. It opens up easily and quickly. Closing is just as fast. It is fairly large and can easily fit 2 people under if needed (I can fit myself at 5'4" and 2 toddlers). The umbrella goes in and out of the case without hassle which is nice. I haven't used this in the wind but it does offer good rain protection. The umbrella is a little on the heavy side compared to others but it's still lightweight overall.

Heavy Duty
To be honest I haven't used it yet, but I opened it when I got it and the spring opening is crazy strong. Pushing the button to close gives you the same strong, fast action. Push down to close into a small package is easy but firm. Nice heavy duty carry bag. The ten ribs look very strong. I'm taking it to Europe on Sat. 9/9 and I hope I don't have to use it, but if I do it lol is like it will work well especially with the wide coverage.
