FORTOP Normal Bicycle Kickstand

I am giving this Fortop bike kick stand a five star because it is an excellent product and I thought you would read this if it were a five star. I have an electric bike that is extremely heavy. This kick stand will not hold the bike in a vertical position. The stand just slowly gives way and lets the bike fall over. So, do not buy this for an electric bike. If you do you will be returning it as I did. On the other hand it is very well made. I love the design. The bolt pattern is well engineered as is the adjustable foot. Putting the stand on is so very easy even without instructions. I would buy this in a heart beat if I were buying it for a non electric bike. The manufacturer of this product needs to be commended for making such a fine product.

So I bought a new bike and gave my old Trek to my son. He's 13 and of course all of his previous bikes have kick stands. I tried to tell him that most bikes like this do not have a kick stand. But while knowing that he could use a kick stand so that he doesn't throw his bike down every time he gets off it I decided to install one. It works great and wasn't that hard to install. I had to place it on the left side because the right side having the derailleur. It's a little closet the pedals but I couldn't put it much further back because of the disc brake. So far he's not had any trouble with it. I was easy to install and adjust the height. I could see if he gets into jumping his bike it might flip down and cause havoc but right now he just likes to ride around and doesn't get to out of control. Before I installed this and after giving him the bike he had a pretty gnarly crash on a hill, luckily it was soft grass and didn't hurt him. That calmed him and slowed him down a bit. If it becomes an issue we can always take it off but for now it serves it's purpose.

I received the bike stand and the box was sturdy, but upon opening I noticed it wasn't wrapped in anything and there were no instructions. I also noticed it wasn't quite the same as the pictures, as the support arm had upside down writing and the main compression part was more oval than square. Regardless, it fit well and can hold up my Scott big tire mountain bike, so I am happy, but I took away a star because I absolutely hate having to look at the support arm with the upside down company name. QC people, come on.... (and yes, I am absolutely sure it was installed right).

My husband has been wanting a kick stand for his bike for a while now. I wasn't sure what size to get him but this one was adjustable so I thought I would give it a shot. I am happy to report that the adjustable height of the kick stand made it very easy to height adjust it to my husbands bike, it is very sturdy and easy to maneuver into place and I really like the anti slip feature at the foot of the kick stand that makes it less likely to slip over when in use!

Core product aka Regular is on 3 other bikes in our house including one from last week and one from this week. For my taller bike I got the 'Lengthen' and it has multiple issues. First, the foot is adjustable but also easy to steal in that it has a bright red thumb button to adjust length. Given length change is a 1x thing when you assemble to your bike, an Allen Bolt is what should be there, is what is on all other kick stands including the non lengthen version from same shop so zero reason the flimsy and easy to steal with plastic button even exists. Fail there. Also, no instructions in the box and the AMAZON picture install shows the clamp going OVER the brake cable......if you did that and tightened properly, your brakes would not work so fail there. Lastly, the extra upper support piece has protection pads on it's tips but not on it's inside so all places where it contacts your bike frame metal are bare metal. Obvious easy fix design fail but as is you either pad your bar before assembly or you will have no paint at contact point shortly after and then of course rust. Looks like they took a good product and then did not think through how to make it for tall bikes. You need the foot extend to be SAME as on standard product, secure same way, same materials, just couple inches longer. the upper support arm needs it's brackets attach point padded inside where it touches metal not on the tips that do not even touch metal...kind of pointless. Would not have purchased if i knew that most of the key good elements of the original were removed or done worse in the extend.......so skip this one...

Easy to install. Works well. Good value for the price.

I gave it a 1 star ratting as there is no 0 rating. I installed the support stand in my mountain bike. I tried every possible angle, mounted and dismantlement it 5 times. Tried every angle. and length in the lower bike bar. It simply does not hold the bike. It stand at 45deg. and ready to collapse in any minute. I glued some extra rubber in the foot, still drying, hope it'll work. One screw was too short. The unit is weak. I won't return it because I am tired of returning faulty items. I once asked amazon who sells tenths of millions of items. Can everybody apply and sell through you? No response. No QA. badly bought!!! Thats all.

I have a Amyet EB26 fat tire e-bike. Wind blew it over and broke the original stand. This stand fit perfectly. Very simple to install. I would recommend it.

This is definitely NOT for a 29" Bike. If it was just a tad bit longer, maybe a couple inches, it would have been adequate. This kick stand will work for bikes that have a smaller wheel base for sure. I was able to get it up and hold the bike, but it was on the verge of tipping. I'm confident a brisk wind would easily knock it over. I'm sure this would be a 4 or 5 star rating for smaller bikes because the stand is pretty good for the price point. I tried various points of the installation to make sure that it wasn't just bad placement. I was on a solid surface to get it to stand but no way would it stand up on the lawn like my other stand. Basically a good product. Just not for the 29" wheel.

It was easy to attach on my bike, but need some another adjustment after some rides.
