Works for freeze/boil, pH completely unreliable.
The freeze / boil point appears to work well. The reserve alkalinity tested the same on 6 year old coolant and new coolant. I could not find any car (I tried 6 different vehicles with old coolant) where the alkalinity / pH tested any different than pH7.5.UPDATE 1-14-17: I repurchased this product locally to determine if my original poor results were due to sample variances. I found several different vehicles with different concentrations and pH levels as determined by calibrated lab pH meters. My new results confirmed my original results! The freeze/boil has accuracy (compared to a refractometer) of approx. plus or minus 20% when you include the estimation factor in trying to match the colors. The pH values were completely un reliable again! This also makes the reserve alkalinity suspicious but I could not test that. Not a product I trust or will recommend. All test strips were within expiration date in my original review and this update. I am changing my rating to one star since I cant produce any evidence this product is accurate or reliable.
