I got this book because of the current 3-part series called "Keeper of the Ashes." The corelating story in this volume is The Girl Scout Murders. There were good chapters on the Oklahoma City Bombing, Machine Gun Kelly's kidnapping escapade, and an objective chapter on the Karen Silkwood case. I highly recommend this book to lovers of True Crime.

Great book. Complicated legal cases are simplified to understand easily and remain very interesting. Highly recommend for anyone who likes court cases or is from Oklahoma.

Having co-authored two books on the OKC bombing and as an Oklahoman who lived through all of the cases presented, buying this book was a given. My only complaint is that I found myself wishing it was longer and more in-depth. I couldn't get enough. It is a fast read that moves right along with nary a dull moment. I also thought Mr. Frates did an excellent job of presenting the facts of the cases without bias or trying to steer the reader in a particular direction. Facts are facts, and this book is a fine example of why only those in a jury room are qualified to pass judgment on any given case. Highly recommended.

I grew up in Oklahoma. I was pretty young when the Stafford and Girl Scout murders occurred, but old to remember when they happened. This book, fantastically written, helped fill in the gaps between what I was allowed to know as a child and the reality, between what we heard on the news and the true story. Good job, Kent!!

Excellent book on some of the notorious crimes committed in Oklahoma. I remember some of them and found some interesting information about them. Highly recommended.
