WORKSHOP Wet/Dry Vacs 2.5" Muffler/Diffuser

I bought this for a small Shop Vac which has 2.25" / 58mm diameter intake & exhaust ports. With a 2.25" diameter vac you will not need the red tabbed 2.25" to 2.5" adapter to connect the diffuser. Models like the Rigid will need to use the adapter with the diffuser, and it will stick out further from the base. My model doesn't have a lip for the tab on the top of the diffuser to fit into, but the fit was snug and the tab didn't interfere with the connection. I'll probably make an indent for the tab using a multi-tool later if needed.I couldn't tell any difference in noise with or without the diffuser installed. I think that's why it's called a diffuser and not a muffler. I bought this to reduce exhausting dust back into the environment while vacuuming. I think it only does an OK job, but it's better than nothing and I don't regret the purchase.

This is a replacement to one I purchased when I bought my Rigid years ago. The foam was aged out.The diffuser is handy and reasonably effective but it’s senseless to have to replace the entire housing in leu of just the foam piece. But the breakdown over 8 years isn’t bad…..

Added this to my ridgid shop vac. Already had the separator, filter bag an Filter screen. It did affect the suction slightly but not too bad. It also did make it a little louder but it totally changed the air in my shop. Love it

My man is a chimney sweep and this was a gift from Santa. He doesn't use it as much as I had thought he would but he did say it dose its job just not always needed...umm ok. I think he just forgets

I bought this because this was the recommended product for My wet dry shop vac. Unfortunately the clip part doesn't fit. So I had to dismantle it and finagle it into the port. This could be better

The only thing about this is the little filter that goes inside of the muffler needs to be a little bigger with a different material so debree cant slip past it and blow everywhere

Do not expect a huge noise reduction...But does help disipate the blower path while vacuuming.

Fits Ridged shop vac! Although I have to say the noise isn't really cut down that much pretty negligible so I would pass if buying this simply to reduce the noise. If however you like the extra filtration on the exhaust side then this is fine as there is a sponge filter in the muffler.

Diffuses the air blowing out the rear of the shop vac a lot better than not having a diffuser at all. Should keep the vac exhaust air from stirring up the dust around me as I wheel the vac around. It does little to reduce the noise of the vacuum though, so can't give it anymore stars because it's advertised to help with noise as well.

The person who wrote muffler should look up the definition of the word. It's only an air diffuser. There is no difference in the sound volume or decibel rating. It's called false advertising. So stuff a piece of foam in your pipe, It'll do the same and you won't get ripped off.

Je viens d'installer ce silencieux sur mon aspirateur d'atelier et comme je l'ai acheté pour couper le bruit, je suis réellement déçu.Ça ne fonctionne pas du tout. C'est pourquoi j'ai mis que 2 étoiles. J'ai confiance par contre que ce dispositif va aider pour l'étalement de la poussière.

I have a 4 gallon Ridgid wet/dry vacuum. The muffler fit perfectly without the need of the supplied adapter. I was only looking to break the the flow of air, the slight decrease in noise was a bonus.
