Best. Book. Ever.
I've read many, many books in this area, both professionally (as a pastor) and for personal reasons (as a 'victim' of divorce who would really like to get over it), and I've found them to be uniformly worthless. Self-help anger management books tend to suffer from a number of deficiencies, including an excessive focus on "information" rather than technique and ineffective technique when it is offered. That's not the case here! Read the book. Do the exercises, and you will be changed. The first chapter alone is an eye-opener, and the presentation of the "emergency technique", while in itself nothing unique, is very well done and by itself worth the price of the book. The daily exercises are challenging and they WILL challenge you. You will not be allowed to "float" on top of this book--the exercises force you to confront your own issues, and they force you to go deep.A lot of authors have tried to do what Dr. Shoshanna has done here, but none have done it so well, so artfully, or so thoroughly. I really can't say enough nice things about this book. And, let it be said, I'm not in the habit of writing rave reviews.

A useful book
Well structured and written in an easy style, this is a useful book dealing with the hidden ways anger affects our lives. Each chapter consists of an explanation of the a specific type of anger and real life examples, and ends with practical exercises to help work through anger. Interspersed with the chapters are exercises to help one reflect and review where and how anger sneaks into our psyche. As is the norm with "self-help" books, this book will only be as good as the reader allows it to be - the exercises need to be answered honestly to be effective(no one else is going to read your answers, right?) Because of this it's not a quick read, but it's interesting and does provide insight into the many forms anger can disguise itself as in our every day lives. The comments and exercise on forgiveness were very good.Knowledge is power and knowing how anger works in our lives can only be beneficial to ourselves and our relationships - this book makes that knowledge accessible and real.An excellent read if you're experiencing anger or are a victim of anger.

Buy this book!
Wow! Where do I start! This book explains how there are more than just 2 types of anger in our lives: anger & depression. I had no idea that there were so many more manifestations such as being a victim and passive aggression. It's really amazing to me how much anger has been a constant companion on my journey through life. I really wish I'd not only had read Dr. Shoshanna's book years ago, but I wish I could say I would've been as receptive back than as I am now to its lessons. I have been sharing the lessons with my 11 year old son to help give him a good foundation on anger management and identification. I hope to save him the years of being "angry" that I've put myself through. Excellent book. Please don't rush through it. Take each lesson day by day. Not every one you'll identify with, and the ones that are are very informative and helpful.

You don't want to be angry already
I'm a christian & I don't read nor do I believe in teachings by other religions especially buddhism & hinduism. This book quotes "buddhism sayings" many times but I still give this a 5 star because it doesn't push the religion but explains what is behind ANGER. It's surprising to learn that even the most selfless person you know is angry too..As you read on, expect flashes of images of your family, friends, colleagues to come to mind. It helps you to understand yourself better too when you react to certain situations. Personally, I was encouraged to be more positive & think twice whenever I'm provoked to get angry. Not to elaborate much, I recommend this a great read.I finished reading in 7 days, not 30.

It Worked for Me!
As I worked through all the manifestations of anger, some of which are quite original but accurate, I fought acceptance of each one; however, I did the exercises and spent much more than a day on each one - at least a month because anger is a real problem for me. Not until I approached the end of the book did I realize how full of hate I had been in the past because I had poorly processed past emotional injuries. By the end of the book, as I became increasingly skilled at processing past negative experiences, I realized that anger and hatred had been replaced by compassion and love for all.

Book Review
This book gives you a day by day plan to deal with and get rid of the anger inside of you. After the first week I was much calmer. My family has noticed the improvements in me. I definitely recommend this book.

Best book I have ever read
Best book I have ever read. Helps you with displaced anger and how to overcome the gripping hold it has on most of us.

Helpful book
This book helped me control a lot of the petty anger I experienced in everyday life. I enjoyed the readings as it helped me think about situations in a different light but the exercises are kind of weird. I am not an outgoing person so I didn't want to find random people and give them compliments, but again, the readings helped me a lot. I recommend this book to anyone looking to break away from the unhealthy anger of everyday life.
