Retrospec CM-2 Bicycle/Skateboard Helmet for Adult Commuter, Bike, Skate

I ordered this helmet with a few basic criteria in mind:1. It has to fit my giant noggin (~62 cm). This is significant, as most hats and helmets stop at about 60 cm.2. It has to be of an "adult" design (nothing flashy), as I am a middle aged male who has no desire to pretend otherwise.3. It has to provide basic protection without making its wearer look some bubblehead like "Jack" from Jack in the Box.4. It has to be of a reasonable price with all the previous points in mind.This helmet just fits my head. It is adjustable to some degree, by way of extra foam pieces that fit inside, but without those optional pieces, I get a more or less perfect fit. So, a big CHECK on box #1.As you can see, it's a very plain, matte black design with little or no flourish whatsoever. So, CHECK on box #2.In terms of protection, this is your typical sub-$50 design, consisting of an thin inner layer of soft foam, followed by a thicker layer of hard foam, covered in a hard plastic shell. This is more or less exactly the same as any other helmet in this price range. Pay over $50 and you might get things like memory foam or at least less of that hard filler foam, but not at this price. But all things considered, this helmet seems to be built very well. So, CHECK on box #3. Finally, let's talk about cost. My first swing at finding a helmet that fit was to a local Target. That was a near "hit," as I did find something fairly similar to this one, but a bit tighter and costing $10 more than this one. So, in terms of cost, I feel very satisfied with what I got for around $25 here. Huge CHECK on box #5.So to sum things up. Good, inexpensive, basic helmet for protecting a big head while scootering around way too fast. I am very pleased with this purchase in every way -- and if you are in a similar situation with similar requirements, I expect you will feel the same way about this helmet.

The shell is HUGE. Compared to Bell or Gyro brand (similar price) it's like the great gazoo of helmets. That's fine if it's more protective, but based on the construction, I expect this is no better/worse than the other brands (meaning that I have total confidence in it, it's just that it's huge.)

I'm about to buy a second one to replace the first one I ordered. Today my kid crashed and did a face plant at the skate park. The helmet foam compressed to cushion the impact and protect his brain just like it should. Now it needs to be replaced and I would much rather replace a helmet than pay an ER bill!

My 9 almost 10yo son was VERY specific in his requests for a new helmet. He obv wanted one comfortable & preferably one that did not have the adjuster dial on back.Also, wanted a matte black.This met all his requirements. He’s used it several times since arrived (several as in several times daily)He LOVES it!! At 1st he was upset it wasn’t big enough, however he was in such a hurry to try it on, the extra padding piece was still in it(to fit smaller heads)10yo approved! 💯

Nice, low profile, plain design (just a small logo on the rear exterior). Rigid shell overlays 3/4" hard foam and neat nylon lining. Straps adjust easily and the clip fastener works well. Size L is good for my skull (24" measured just above the ears).

I'm really happy with this helmet! I like the minimalist look, and the soft pink color adds personality. The vents offer a nice flow of air. I followed the sizing chart and the fit for me is perfect; I swapped out the pads with the alternate set it came with and it's comfy and secure. Nice style, good price point, and helps me feel safe on the road!

Yes, it actually looks like wood. No, it is not actually wood. It wears extremely well, though. Skid marks and scratches make it look worn in.This is not necessarily a close-fitting helmet. It makes me at least four inches taller when I wear it.The adjustable straps are annoyingly hard to adjust, especially when riding. But they are secure, that's for sure.

I bought the medium after measuring my head and when the helmet arrived it felt pretty small and sat on top of my head more than around it.It looks cool and I feel the protection provided is probably good, but if you have a head at the higher end of the measurements provided for each size, I'd recommend sizing up as they do provide different thickness pads with it which is a nice touch.

Seguí las instrucciones de talla, son correctas, vienen bien indicadas. Es un poco pesado en comparación con otros cascos pero se ajusta muy bien a la cabeza y barbilla. Viene con un par de esponjas extra.Otro detalle que podrías considerar antes de comprar es que el modelo de casco lo hace caluroso, a pesar de que tiene varios orificios de ventilación sudo un poco más y se acumula el calor.La certificación CPCS para cascos de monopatín y bicicleta es correcta y válida por lo que garantiza cierto nivel de seguridad.El producto llegó en perfecto estado y bien protegido.

Me quedó a la perfección, pedí la talla grande y me cabe bien la cabeza con todo y una ponytail. El diseño está increíble y muy cómodo. Las respiraderas son eficientes, lo he utilizado en calor extremo y no sudo de más ni me da calor. Excelente producto.

No se mucho de cascos, pero he comprado un par de esta marca y mi pareja y yo estamos contentos con ellos, no son estorbosos, quedan bien (si sigues la tablita de medidas que proporcionan) son básicos pero muy útiles para un ciclista regular ademas de que cuentan con diferentes colores atractivos.

I bought this helmet to go along with a new electric scooter that I purchased. The helmet is sturdy and does a reasonable job at fitting on my big head. My only complaint with the helmet is its weight. As others have pointed out it is a little heavier than your average bike helmet, and when on, I look like I am a cast member of The Jetsons. Nevertheless, I'm happy with the purchase. The bike has enough air vents for air flow, and enough cushion to protect me in an unfortunate crash. Value for money... it's a good deal.
