FRIGIDAIRE White FFRA051ZA1 17" Window Air Conditioner with 5000 BTU Cooling Capacity-115V

I installed this window ac unit in a small sunroom(150 square feet) that we used to keep closed off during the summer because it would overload our central ac if the sunroom was open to the house. We looked at a $3800 mitsubishi split system(9000btu) to handle the sunroom and decided to give this sub $200 unit a try. Wow! It has been running for about a month without any issues and has kept the sunroom below 72 degrees, and the central air is working less hard. You can hear it run but there are zero rattles or whines and can't tell when the compressor kicks on. I am amazed that something this cheap performs this well. We now use our sunroom all year round. This is a nice small unit that will do the job without drowning out your conversations.

I have a pretty large bedroom and this cools it right down. I had been getting a sinus headache every time I turned on my older unit and knew it was time for a replacement. This unit is very efficient and as soon as the room cools down, the temp is easily maintained when I lower the setting. It’s not the most quiet AC, but I have also heard much noisier units, so middle of the road there. But for easy cooling off in a large room you cannot beat the quality you get for the price of this unit.

This air conditioner is easy to install and cools down a room very quickly and nicely. The fan doesn't keep the room cool, but not sure if it's supposed to. It does make a stuffy room less warm. Love the air conditioner part. My husband was able to install our air conditioner by himself with no difficulties (at least none expressed!). I'd recommend purchasing this item.

Bought this replacement for my sons bedroom. It works great and keeps his room very cool and comfortable. We have had it for 2 years now and still working strong.

We live in Colorado and not all houses have central air. Usually it isn't hot enough to bother during the summer, but we had an unusually warm summer and the only window capable of being able to install a window air conditioner is in our bedroom. (All our other windows open side to side and are very tall.) So we opted for this little window air conditioner and we had at least one area where we could go to cool off during the hottest part of the day. The Frigidaire air conditioner worked well, got very cool and was reasonably easy to install. The instructions are good but turns out our window is small (20 & 1/2" wide) so the sliding side louvers we were unable to use. Be sure that any window air conditioner you purchase is the correct size, including the louvers that you will need to help keep the outside heat from sliding around the unit.

Easy install. Cools room quickly. 11x12 foot room went from 89 degrees to 72 in 45 minutes during a 98 degree day. Took it to 64 degrees overnight.It is fairly quiet and circulates air well. Buying a second one to replace another louder, less efficient unit.

We were looking for a unit that would fit a 19" window. All the reviews and comments said this unit would fit. IT DOES NOT. The box clearly states that this unit is for a minimum width of 23" window opening - not 17" as the description says. Unfortunately, there was not a picture of the box in the description nor were there measurements for this unit, so we went with the reviews and comments. The unit itself is 16" but you have to use the side panels to secure the unit to the window, so you have to account for that in the measurement. We modified the side panels and made this unit work, but if you aren't able to do that, keep looking. The unit itself is great and works - but the comments and reviews are extremely misleading and inaccurate.
