I had looked at many ladder options and this one stood out for it's design and ease of use. The ladder is very well-made and durable. The sturdy rungs provide a secure and stable platform for climbing down from higher floors during an emergency. We tested and it supported my hubby, myself and son. We felt very safe and stable while using it. We quickly got down during our emergency exit testing. I love that it has a red storage case included so everything is neat and ready when needed. It's easy to pull out and my 10 year old did it with ease. The ladder is very easy to use too. It can be quickly and easily attached to most window sills, and it can be deployed in seconds. The ladder also features anti-slip rungs, which provide extra safety and stability when climbing down. Overall, I highly recommend this product.

5-star so far. In the absence of a trial run, I am refraining from using the ladder until its necessity arises; adhering to the manufacturer’s instructions, which stipulate its single-use nature. However, I can provide an assessment of the ladder’s construction, appearance, and potential durability based on its intended purpose. In the event of a fire, which I hope will not transpire, this ladder will serve as an escape route. Having a means of escape in the event of a fire provides me with a sense of security. Upon receiving the ladder, I was able to easily remove it from its packaging and comprehend its functionality, place it in its bag, and store it near a window. The provided instructions are straightforward and easy to follow. I also viewed the videos provided before and after purchasing the ladder. It is not excessively heavy and appears to be user-friendly, even for someone of my age; three-quarters of a century old. I was able to purchase it during a sale, which made it more affordable. Compared to another leading brand, I believe it is comparable. It is logical that well-built safety tools come with a higher price tag, so I anticipated paying a premium for one. It was easy to open and move the ladder from the box to the bag. I have noticed from the reviews that several individuals mentioned the sharp edges, and I can confirm that this is true. Therefore, if I have any concerns, it is regarding the sharp edges when handling the ladder, so I recommend exercising caution. I will evaluate its actual functionality if I ever need to use it. If you are considering purchasing a ladder as a means of escape from a fire, I recommend considering this one as you research safety and security tools. In terms of appearance, it resembles a ladder specifically designed for escaping from a building through an open window. I did send one of my children the information after purchasing it to gauge his opinion on its functionality. I’ll only return it for a refund if he recommends a different brand based on his research. I will update my review following his response. 12/2/2025 update: On December 2, 2025, I decided to keep this ladder. I also purchased another one for one of my children and their family.

We just remodeled our third floor attic, adding two bedrooms. It's a long drop to the ground, so we are putting a fire escape ladder in each bedroom. I practice deployed the Hausse. It was easy to deploy, and looked like it would work for climbing. I didn't actually climb on it. It was also easy to pack back up - it took awhile, but was straightforward and packed neatly into its original shape. The thing to watch out for is the sharp corners on the steel 'steps' -- each step has an extension on each end that rests against the house. The corners on those extensions are very sharp. Otherwise, it looks like a good product and we will keep it. I will put a warning on the case about the sharp corners.

Hard to review something that is difficult to test and I never hope to use, but I was able to easily mount it in the window And the design itself seems sturdy. It folds up small and stores easily near where we need it. If I ever did use it I'm sure it would damage the walls around the window and scratch up the siding as well. But if I'm climbing out of an upper floor window because I can't get down the stairs, that's going to be the least of my concerns.

It’s great for a second story window. It can be stored in a fairly small area. It’s heavy, so a small child would not be able to extend it or hook it to the window. My son is autistic and just took a disliking to it so it had to go back.

Good design, excellent services, fair weight, fast shipping. However, here are my takes on it. Cons: 1- as reported by others, it had tough and sharp edges on the step. 2- it is not a fit, or at least not listed or mentioned it would work on balcony rails. I have not tested this but I opted for a rope ladder for the balcony secured by carabiner. I have a bay window which will not work with it. 3- Instructions stated it is one time use and as others mentioned, if you run a drill it would be that one time. this is, in my opinion and act responsible and on your own risk, it could be used more than once however the instructions should stated at least how to fold it back without tangles so it can be deployed safely and fast as per intended use. 4- Delivered ladder to me had one rivet installed without a washer, which could slip into the hole and become safety hazard, see photos. Pros: 1- Fair weight to carry 2- fast deployment 3- Excellent design 4-Fair weight to hold average 3 people (1000lb) at one time. 5- comes with storage bag. Recommendations: change design to create or accept carabiner to secure it to balcony rails and/or Bay windows. It was returned for the defect mentioned and balcony / Bay window compatibility. I have not tested in a drill.

When I tried this product out, it was a complete fail. I could not get down this in an emergency. It is very flimsy and cheaply made. My husband just threw it in the garbage. So sad. This would not save anyone.
