Bomberman Party Edition

Case, manual and CD came in perfect condition and the game works perfectly. Couldn't ask for a better result.

Our colorful and explosive hero Bomberman had only three games released in the United States for the PS1: Bomberman World (1998), Fantasy Race (1999) and Party Edition (2000). Out of the three, Party Edition takes the cake with its versatile multiplayer (up to five players) options, a descent remake of Bomberman's first video game outing (1983), and all the amazing features to be loved.GAMEPLAY: [10/10]Party Edition provides two modes of excellent Bomberman action as it should be. First comes the remake of the original Bomberman, where you can choose either Modern or Retro graphics to your liking. Gameplaywise, it's nothing too different compared with the original. But it's definitely a great reminder and representation of how Bomberman started and most importantly, how the series evolved into the popular franchise it has become today. You can also save your progress with a memory card or resume your last game with a simple 8-digit password. The only disappointment is that you cannot save any time or be given a password unless you lose all of your lives.Second is Battle Mode, where the heart of the game lies. Without cheat codes or the need to unlock hidden content, there are three level settings provided (Beginner, Normal and Advanced) that each have their own stages and characters to choose from. To make things more versatile, every stage is original and will require you to develop a different strategy. The 'Advanced' characters even have their own abilities (jet-packs, hammers, etc.). You can also allow Sudden Death, the Hyper Bomber bonus game or the Bomber Cart to create the ultimate multiplayer party experience.GRAPHICS: [8/10]The 2D-rendered graphics for Party Edition at first did not light my fire (in comparison to those of Saturn Bomberman and the Super Bomberman series for the SNES). But in a short matter of time, I learned to love them. The graphics are colorful, polished and oldschool as ever before!SOUND/MUSIC: [9/10]It's always grand pleasure to hear the original Japanese voices of Bomberman in action. The music on the other hand isn't too memorable, but it works perfect for the game. It maintains the retro feel of the series.OVERALL:So if you're alone or bored at home, the gameplay of Bomberman Party Edition will keep you busy for quite a while. But you may want to order a pizza and call some friends over to get a taste of the unlimited multiplayer action. FUN GAME A BIT SLOW BUT IF YOU HAVE KIDS WHO AREN'T VERY GAME SAVVY YET THIS IS A GOOD GAME FOR THEM

Game froze and glitched within the first twenty minutes of playing. Plays for the most part.

I had been looking for this game for awhile. It was one of the first games that really got me into gaming. After several years of being a pretty avid gamer (EQ, WOW, Skyrim, etc) I can still go back to this game and have some much fun!
