At times I lie there believing I’m actually on Old MacDonald’s farm, as my husband’s snoring takes on a life of its own. So, out of pure desperation I buy several types of ear plugs, which I tried and binned, or relegated to the bedside drawer. Then I tried these...Omg why did I not discover these sooner? When you’re lying awake trying hard to ignore the thundering snore next to you, you also hear every other noise the house, dog or world outside makes.These completely block out every sound. No snoring! No snoring, no random sleep noises, no bodily function sounds, or bed frame squeaking every time my husband turns over; nothing!So I slept right though every noise, including my alarm, which is loud and more or less next to my head! This would have been dangerous had it not been a morning when I wasn’t in work, as I don’t know how I’d work around that one.The earplugs are quite hard to begin with but as they warm up, they soften and completely mould into the ear. What I love is the fact they don’t go into the ear, just moulding itself across the outer ear to prevent sound, rather than having to insert something intrusive inside.Pros:ComfortableCompletely restricts soundBest night’s sleep in months!Cons:Danger of not hearing alarmOnly a couple of uses per earplugCostly in long runQuite sticky when warm - tie hair back before removal!On taking them out, which is easy as they simply peal off, one snagged on my long hair. It was like removing chewing gum! My fault as my (very curly and unruly (first thing)) hair was in the way and common sense did not prevail. I spent five minutes removing what I can only describe as glue from hair. Still worth it due to best sleep in a year!

These ear plugs are amazing. Use as instructed and they will work just fine. I tend to roll mine into a ball with a little point that sits in the ear canal (but not all the way in) and I don't hear a peep when asleep. I do still hear my alarm as long as it's near my head, but any background noise is thankfully gone. I'm still able to hear things I'm focusing on, e.g. a video on my phone, once they're in, but don't let that alarm you - they work really well for me when sleeping. My only concern is that after I've worn them for a few nights in a row my ears ache a little - so if you can take a break every few nights or so, you will hopefully avoid that. I hope I won't need them long term, but for now this is a perfect solution to a noisy flatmate in the mornings!

I used this brand for a couple of years, and at the time I thought they were pretty good, but that was only because I'd only ever used foam ear plugs before (which are not impressive at all) so moving to silicone was a huge step up from that.However, compared to other silicone brands (such as Exgox and other 29db SNR ear plugs) these Bioears have pretty poor performance.There offer no size variations (so you just have to hope that they fit your ears correctly). For me these were way too big and meant that they would stick out of my ears (even when pressed in as much as possible) making them rub on my pillow and fall out during sleep (leading to me being woken by noise).The noise reduction is also not that good, and worst of all the sticky quality wears out very quickly so they end up sliding out of your ears because they have lost all their grip. You can barely get a week of usage out of a pair.There are much better, cheaper, more noise-reducing, longer-lasting ear plugs available.
