I was pretty excited when I got this. It installed fairly easily and was a $25 fix to an otherwise expensive problem. However, the the components are cheap garbage. I ended up using the original fuse because the one in the new package didn't work. That's correct... didn't work. No power to the dryer when I pressed the button, which was one step worse than I started with. I did use the new thermostat but the metal is thin and flimsy, which I believe is probably what led to the heating element burning out in 2 years. But still, another $26 now (fort he "upgraded" model is better than buying a new dryer. I just wish they'd last 5 years or more. Funny how the original one lasted 8 years and the ones they made back in the 70s lasted 20 years or more.

This was an inexpensive DIY repair kit for my 30 year old dryer. Start to finish took less than 30 minutes to pull the dryer out, remove the back panel and replace all the parts from the kit. Once it was all buttoned up again, we were drying clothes. Easy peasey lemon squeezy. It's now been a few weeks... no issues. =)

$30 kit & YouTube saved me $700+ for a new dryer. Replaced all parts in the kit. Easy installation. Dryer is drying super hot & only 1 cycle.

Ok, SO, i didn't read the bad reviews and I should have. I'm going to post a image when I get it but for now TRUST ME. YOU DON'T WANT THIS UNIT IN YOUR DRYER!!!!!!!!!!!! The images of the top portion of the element being black shows the there is quality issues. Only after 4 months or less of use, we noticed we were have to turn the dryer on a second time to get the clothes dry. BAD SIGN but I ignored it thinking there was simply TOO much clothes in the dryer.. Dry vent tube was just cleaned this year and I verified all the other Fuses and Thermostats has continuity. BUT the element has the black burnt look at the top just like all the others and not getting as hot. So there is DEFINITELY QUALITY ISSUES HERE!!!!!. I will edit this and post pictures of this unit when I get the new unit in 2 days. I did not buy another one from this same seller.UPDATE: Upon further research. As you can see in the pictures, the element has burnt particles at the top and not at the bottom. If I remember correctly the OEM element I took out didn't look like that even after 4 years of use.. However, this aftermarket Element didn't have any breaks in it, BUT as you can see the case is warped from the heat and obviously something is going on with it. This lead me to also believe that something might be wrong with the thermostats letting it get too hot or something. So I order new OEM high limit thermostat and thermal cutoff switch to ENSURE all of this is inline with what is supposed to be. Please note that my dyer WAS getting warm.. but not hot on HIGH heat setting. Again, my vents are clear and dryer is lint free so this is not due to clogged vent path with lint.

Fit perfectly! Was easy to do myself, which saved an otherwise expensive repair bill. Thank you!

First shipment had a broken ceramic spacer in the heating element, response was immediate and the replacement was fine. Having all the relevant pieces made a complete overhaul of the heating system quick, easy and economical. Even if you weren't planning a complete overhaul, this is a good buy.

Perfect fit

Installed the kit in an old Maytag Dryer, and it runs and drys like a new dryer. This is a great kit!
