My wife loves it.
My wife makes salsa and would get the seeds on her hands quite often while preparing it and would have to deal with the burning. Since I bought her this, she rarely has issues with the seeds. I've tried it a few times too, and it is very easy to use. I didn't rate the "durability" since I have only had it a short time, but it is well made and expect it to receive a good rating.

Works great!!
This is a great tool! The first time I tried to core jalapeƱos, I tried a variety of knives and any other sharp pointy tools I could find in the kitchen. In the end, my best option was a Swiss Army knife, but it was far from ideal. It took me forever, made a huge mess, and no matter how careful I was, I still tore the tops of the jalapeƱos. I was determined to find a better way to core a silly jalapeƱo. I read reviews on Amazon for several different jalapeƱo corers, and I am SO glad I chose this one! It works great!! In just a short time, I had 14 perfectly cored jalapeƱos, with 14 intact cores. (See photo.) I highly recommend this tool!!

Works great - could use a more ergonomic handle
This is a simple, sturdy, handy, little jalapeno corer, perfect for use when hollowing out peppers for making poppers. What used to be a huge chore involving blanching and slitting and scraping with a spoon, now is done in minutes with fresh peppers, preserving their crunch! Sometimes it takes more than one pass to get all of the pulp out, but it's not difficult to use, at all. The only thing I dislike about it, and the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars, is that the handle is just part of the blade, and your hand kind of slips up and down on it as you use it. There is no plastic or padding, so the sides kind of dig into your palm as you are gripping it. It's not too bad if you are only doing, say, 6 or 12 peppers or so. But if you are doing A LOT of peppers, that handle can really start to irritate your hand! Or maybe I am just a wuss and need to develop some calluses, lol. I would still recommend this tool.

Works!
There are a surprising number of jalapeƱo corers for sale on Amazon and I had a really hard time knowing which one to choose. Many of them are more or less at the same price point, too, so that didn't help me either. Because I've never owned another one, I also don't have any way to compare different types of tools. I'm really under-selling my review, aren't I?Here's how I use the tool: I run the serrated blade between the core and the flesh of the jalapeƱo and then scrape the dislodged core out with the blade. That takes out most, but leaves some membrane and seeds behind. At that point, I scrape the remaining membrane and seeds out with the blade. I'm sure this is essentially the same method everyone uses and that I'm not contributing much with this description, but without reading instructions or advice on how to core a pepper, this is what was most intuitive.Formerly, I used a small knife, and that was really ineffective and imprecise. This fits well inside the pepper and makes the job considerably easier and faster. Also, the seeds don't stick to the blade nearly as much as they stick to an ordinary knife. There's a large opening in the middle of the blade, as you can see, and so many of the seeds fall through. The gap also discourages the seeds from sticking. I'm not having to constantly wipe my blade before coring another jalapeƱo.Another corer on here pulls out the center with sort of a curled piece, and I can't speak to the effectiveness of that, but I don't think it's necessary based solely on my experience with this one. Once you cut around the center, it comes out with issue. This is a very simple design, but as such, it can be better adapted for a variety of uses and pepper sizes. I like it.Like others, I make jalapeƱo poppers, but low-carb ones - I soften cream cheese, add cilantro, garlic, and other spices, as well as a little shredded cheddar, and stuff, then bake. No breading. Before this corer, my method was to cut in half and scrape seeds and membranes, but they look so much prettier whole. And now that coring them is so easy, I'm making this recipe a lot more.I guess what I need now is a way to more easily stuff my whole peppers.

If you core jalapenos buy this. Don't ask questions, just buy it.
I live in Texas and I love jalapenos. I have spent years core-ing those pesky things, and while it's not the hardest thing ever, you can launch seeds everywhere. You can touch the cores on your fingers and end up burning yourself someplace later if you don't get it all off. You can miss some of the veins and then it's too hot. List goes on folks. This thing amazes me every time I use it. All you need is a knife to cut off the top and this thing has a serrated edge to cut the veins, has a smoother cutter on the back to scrape. Is almost the perfect taper to get all the way to the bottom. The only thing that might be better than this is when you chop up the jalapenos, add them to cheese and cream cheese and then roll them in eggroll or wonton wrappers and deep fry. (you're welcome). But if you want to fill them, this is the ticket.

Awesome - wish I would have known about it sooner!
I almost didn't want to spend the money on this, but it's pretty amazing. I saw this on a BuzzFeed article, and we eat a lot of jalapenos (especially poppers, which are a bit time consuming to de-seed). This tool is worth the money! De-seeds a jalapeno in a few seconds. Definitely a time saver!

Salsa Must-Have Tool
This tool is worth it, you can use a knife but this thing is more blunt than a knife and won't go through the peppers and cut you when you're swirling inside to get the core out. The tip helps a lot to scoop. Love it
