I rarely write reviews. I have four kids, a full-time job, and no free time to dedicate. I had to write one for this vacuum.I've read all the reviews and was a bit skeptical to purchase. I really wanted a Dyson, but for the price this was seemingly the best option for us. It was definitely the way to go. I bought the vacuum a month ago and so far, the suction is amazing (especially compared to my old piece o' crap vacuum that I purchased at that chain store with all the people shopping in their PJs)!It has lots of features (hardwood cleaning and included attachments too), it is lightweight, and it is very versatile! It was very easy to assemble and easily to use. I don't find it easy to tip over as others have mentioned. Most importantly, I could see a huge difference in our floors after the first use!!Very Happy with this purchase.

I loved this vacuum when it first arrived. It did a better job than my much more expensive Dyson, especially on carpets. However, within a few weeks, I started getting a red light when I pushed the "on" button to the carpet function. I cleaned everything, including the filter, and made sure the brushes were reasonably free of dog hair. Still, no carpet function.Three months after I purchased the unit, it lost function on hard floors, too. I called customer service, who offered to sell me another vacuum at a lower price! Why would I buy another one? I wouldn't. Beware. Find another company. I'll never buy another Shark product.I wanted to love this machine, but because of its unreliability, I can't.

I have had this vacuum for a year. At first, I loved it. The suction was so strong; it felt like a workout just to push it around the house. However, the suction started decreasing after a few months, even with cleaning the filters. It has continued to decline with the vacuum primarily just pushing dirt around rather than sucking it up. Now, every few seconds, the machine overheats and the suction seal at the base pops. The loss of suction is audible and the machine is unusable. Before this Shark, I had a Dyson. After 5 years, the Dyson fried itself and quit working. I bought the Shark as a replacement based on the great reviews and lower price. I wish I'd just bought another Dyson.

I just got this vacuum and I have a small 1 bedroom 700 Sq ft apartment. After my first use I had to empty it! I could not believe the amount of dirt, dust and hair it picked up! I had vacuumed with my old dirt devil only a week before I vacuumed with my new Shark! It works so good it made my carpet look brand new! I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a new vacuum!

I'm reviewing this product after more than a year of use. I have 2 dogs, 2 cats and there are 2 human occupants. The house is mostly carpeted. Needless to say, we have a lot of fur and dirt coming and going. The suction on this is no joke and it does last, but you have to really work to maintain it. I love that it is compact, fairly light and handles corners well. It has a nice long cord and ample attachments. The downsides are that the upright falls over at the slightest provocation, you must constantly clean the brush roll and it's not easy to empty the container. Because we have so much fur, it funnels up at the top of the canister causing a blockage. Most times, I have to empty it from the bottom, pick out chunks of fur from the sides of the interior funnel and then open the top, turn it over and pull out the chunk of fur lodged up there. It's messy and dirty. You also need to clean the filter constantly. If you don't do these things, you will lose a lot of suction over time.It's not perfect, but it really does a great job of picking up the fur from the carpet even after this long.

I have always been a firm believer in Dyson I have the Dyson DC14 lately I have been disappointed with it because I always have hair from my dogs left after I vacuum I have always maintained my Dyson so on a whim I decided to order this Shark Navigator and oh my gosh no regrets here!! I couldn't believe the performance of this vacuum! I vacuumed my bedroom, living room, hallway, and guest room with the Dyson first then I did the same rooms with the Shark Navigator and I couldn't believe the difference! It has so much suction my carpets look like I shampooed them. I took some pics with using the Dyson and then I took pics after going over the same rooms with the Navigator and for over half the price of the Dyson you can't go wrong!! The first pic is with the Dyson the second pic is after vacuuming with the Dyson and going over the same rooms with the Shark!!

I have been using this vacuum now for over a year, and now I can say that it was a big mistake. It is flimsy and its suction abilities are very weak. You constantly need to empty the dirt container or it will not vacuum good. The cord is short and size of the actual vacuum head is small, so you have to keep going back and forth many times to get a small area vacuumed. The cleaning tools are useless; either too narrow or too wide. It is very awkward to carry the vacuum with one hand and use the tools with the other hand; it is not comfortable at all. I don't know why it is so popular. I wish I could return it, but I threw away the box a while ago.

I've had many vacuums over the years but until this one I never realized what I was missing.In college, my roommates complained because my thick curly hair killed...

This did a nice job for a while, but then was consistently locking up in the carpet mode. Take it apart, clean it, lube it, put it back together, and use in ONCE before it locks...

I purchased based on it supposedly being a good vacuum for high pile carpet. It has great suction and did clean very well, however it is really hard to vacuum the carpet.

I absolutely love this vacuum. It is a great deal for the price. I have been using it for over a year and it works great! I have four cats which equals a lot of car hair.

I cannot say enough about the amazing functionality of this vacuum. The item arrived in terrific packaging with no damage to the product.

Best vacuum ever! Seriously. Easy to use and easy to clean.

I use this vacuum to clean everything. It sucks everything up. However when ordering this, make sure to pick up some extra sponge filters that go under the canister.
