Convenient nailer
2nd ryobi nailer (3rd if you count the crown stapler). I use the 18g nailer quite a bit so I went ahead and picked this one up as well for more detail work. If I’m going to be driving more than a dozen nails, I’ll get out the compressor, as these are not as good as their air powered counterparts, but the convenience and price point make them worthwhile to have on hand.I use a lot of Ridgid tools, so I got the adaptor to use my Ridgid batteries, so I can’t speak on their performance with ryobi batteries.

Great tool. Kick the compressor to the curb.
Fair notice, I have a significant investment in Ryobi One+ batteries and tools and I have had Ryobi tools that I didn't like -- for example the first iteration of the handheld tire inflator was ridiculously noisy and broke way too quick. I guess I'm saying that I will tell you the truth about the Ryobi tools even though I tend to like them. This pin nailer I got because I had some trim that was knocked loose on our kitchen cabinets by painters and I didn't trust them to repair the damage. I have air-based pin nailer, but hoses and trying to hold trim standing on a ladder, did not appeal to me. Since I already have batteries for these type tools, the cost of the device was cheap enough to pay for it with the repair. The pin nailer is lighter than the 18 ga brad nailer (much lighter) that I have. It is not lighter than the air-based one, but if you factor in dragging a small compressor and 50ft hose into the kitchen, this one-handed device wins hands down (or up, especially up over your head). The tool worked perfectly and sank the pins deep enough that they were not proud of the surface and the pins are so small that very little putty was necessary to hide their holes. Perfect for visible trim joins. If you want to get a pin-nailer, I would suggest this Ryobi, even if you have to buy the batteries. And once you are started in the One+ ecosystem, additional tools without batteries will be even cheaper. It is not much more expensive than an air based one and is much more mobile.

Nice pin nailer not as pictured though
This is a nice pin nailer that works well it is my second purchase. I am disappointed that neither came with the small edge guide as shown in the picture at 2 different purchase sites. I would love to have one as it makes putting pins at the same distance from an edge easy and consistent. Ryobi is cheating us all as it is not shown on the tool blow-up on their site or listed as a part by them or others. This same scenario applies to my 18 guage nailer as well.

keep your finders clear, the longer nails can tend to go sideways if wood is solid
amazing tool.. Constantly use it with the 6 different sized pin nails I use. This thing is accurate. I build this ship model using this tool and some glue for my daughters project; Of course I use it on job sites all the time. Hasn't jammed yet!

Missing parts.
It did not come with the advertised edge guide or the 500 pin nails. As far as I can tell the edge guide is not sold separately and the lack of nails is going to set my project back a week waiting for new pins to arrive unless I make the drive to the local store just to get pins. For now I can tell you at least the LED works... When I can verify the rest of it actually works I will revisit this review.

Ryobi 18-volt airstrike 23g pin nailer
i gave it *** because its well built sturdy weight not bad and reasonable price , however i just got it and I was testing it it jammed , and it has a major safety issue the 2nd trigger has no safety it just fires. if you have kids at home and you're busy not pain attention this would be dangerous tool around kids and even for adult users . i work mostly with hard wood this nailer can not drive the pin bellow the surface of work piece it stays slightly proud you will not be able to plane or scrape and there is no way to tap the pin deeper in . i'm not sure if i wood buy this again . i have 2 other Ryobi nailers and i love them but this one it's no. i wish it had depth control to drive the pin deeper
