An Unlikely Hero for Long Days in the Saddle
Endurance cycling has a way of making you intimately aware of things you’d rather not think about. Enter Chamois Butt’r—a product whose name gets a laugh, but whose performance earns real respect. On long rides, comfort isn’t optional, and this cream does exactly what it promises without fuss or theatrics. It goes on smoothly, isn’t greasy, washes out easily, and—most importantly—prevents problems before they start. Hours into a ride, when focus drifts and form fades, it’s quietly doing its job. There’s no overpowering scent, no sticky residue, and no drama. Just consistent protection that lets you stay in the saddle longer and think about literally anything else. If you ride far enough, you stop joking about products like this—and start recommending them. Bottom line: The name may raise eyebrows, but this is a genuinely essential piece of endurance kit. Practical, effective, and deserving of a permanent place in any cyclist’s drawer. Highly recommended—for obvious reasons.

Finally!
At last, I’ve found a product that works very well for inner thigh chafing, and is easy to apply and comes in a value-sized 8 oz. tube. I have tried numerous other products of the stick rub-on variety, and none of them worked well or for very long. I decided to try the cycling-oriented products and this is the first one; superb results! Lasts all day with just one application, and just flat-out works. No pain, no irritation, easy to apply, no smell, and comes in a large 8 oz. tube which makes it cost effective. Wish I would have tried it sooner, but I don’t ride a bike so I disregarded the product unknowingly. Well, I can tell you this: I do typical everyday walking for exercise and this stuff is a miracle! You don’t need to be a biker, marathon or triathlon athlete, or anything else, this butt’r gets the job done, and in style! My search and quest is now over.

LOVE for running, thigh chafing, wearing dress shoes - NO BLISTERS! SO much better than Body Glide
I had only used bodyglide in the past for running - under my sports bra in front & on inner thighs to prevent chafing and between my toes to prevent blisters. It helped some & was better than nothing…but I didn’t know what I was missing until using this! SO much easier to use this between my toes! Much easier application and much more comfortable than running with Hydrocolloid Bandages around my toes (& a lot less expensive than those bandages too.) I’ll use for summertime too for wearing shorts, skirts, etc. to prevent thigh chafing. Almost forgot - I’ve been using it with dress shoes lately to prevent blisters/rawness where the straps hit my feet - AMAZING! Why they don’t market it for this use, I don’t know! I’ll never go back to bodyglide - much happier with this!

Great for more than just biking!
I originally discovered Chamois Butt'r when I was into bicycling, and although I no longer bicycle, I still find it to be a great way to prevent chafing from legs rubbing together! Some examples of when I've found it useful is going on extended hikes or walks, as well as while running. With a relatively small amount on both legs, I'm able to avoid chafing that would otherwise cause pain for days. I find that for an all-day hike, I may have to re-apply it around once. For shorter duration activities, a single application at the start is sufficient. Giving it four stars because the product works great, though it does leave a bit of a sticky residue on my hand after applying it - slightly annoying if re-applying out in the field! Wiping it on a cloth can help some with that.

A little goes a long way and it's worth it
I went back and forth whether or not to buy this. I had been using cheap alternatives to prevent chafing and they just weren't cutting it. So, I decided to bite the bullet and try this. I've used this for a solid month now, which means about 400 miles, and so far, I am beyond happy with the results. You don't have to use a lot, just a little dab and that dab will go a long way. Since I've been using it, I have had no issues whatsoever with chafing. Surprisingly so, to me. I was expecting that there would be some period of figuring out where I had missed or that I needed to use more, but not at all. Like I said, the little dab goes a long way and makes for a way more comfortable ride than I was having before. Great product and totally worth it.

My skin is so much happier. A pea sized amount on the bikini line is all I need.
I am a 45-yr-old woman, and currently ride about 100 miles/month, mostly on a Peloton. While in my 20s working at a bike shop and riding road a lot, I would have scorned butt cream. But after having had surgery to remove pilonidal cysts (related? I really can't know for sure.) along with near-constant (but way less severe) ingrown hairs or irritated follicles along the bikini line, I now happily swipe a pea sized amount at each crease, even for short rides. My skin is so much happier. And my high-end Giordana bibs are fine--I wash after each ride (the shorts and my body). My skin/butt is way more important than the longevity of my shorts anyway. I chose this one instead of the "ladies" version bc I saw lavender in the ingredients. Lavender in a deodorant gave me a HORRIBLE chemical burn/rash, so I steer clear of it. Besides, PEOPLE have used this original for decades, I'm not convinced a female version is necessary.
