Are these suitable for ceramic hob?

Dear Rita, Thank you very much for your message. The answer is yes for every cooking surface. The wooden handle ones are not suitable for the oven. Most of our pans work on induction. Of all the recent collections, only our mini aluminium frying pans will not do so. To be sure, you can see this feature under "specifications" on the product page on our website ( https://www.greenpan.co.uk/mayflower-collection.html ). If you put a magnet on the outside base of the pan, does it stick to the pan? If it does, the pan should work on induction. It is also important that the base of the pan is flat enough to make contact with the induction hob. A point of attention is the diameter of the pan in relation to the diameter of the cooking zone on the induction hob. A wok has a small base (+/- 15cm), so it will only work on the smallest zone. Ideally the diameter of the base of the pan should be just a bit larger than the ring on which it is placed. When the ring is larger than the pan, the magnetic flow is not functioning properly, causing the pan to stay cold. I hope my explanation has helped. Is this the original Greenpan Mayflower pan set from the company as on the Greenpan website, this is a 10 piece set priced at £359?

Yes: frying pan, small saucepan, 3 casseroles, steamer, 4 utensils, 3 casserole lids. The box from Greenpan calls it a Mayflower 13-piece set, presumably because they count the 3 lids as "pieces". I am very happy with the set which is practical and aesthetically pleasing. You are advised not to put the pans in the dishwasher, so I haven't, (apart from the lids which are OK) but they are easy to wash up. If they are particularly messy I put water in them to soak once they have cooled down, then the mess just drifts off.

The Green pan set ptfe is superior to that of previous generations of pans with that finish.

Are the lids and handles nickel free?

For people with Nickel allergies, it is essential to avoid uncoated stainless-steel cookware altogether. The Mayflower cookware is free of nickel. The material is of aluminium and Ceramic coating is thermolon enhanced with diamonds. For some of our frying pans, the handle is secured with rivets to the pan. These rivets have a healthy ceramic coating, so don't worry, but these rivets do contain nickel. If you remove the coating from these rivets, you may find traces of nickel in the food. If you want to avoid this kind of frying pan, choose a frying pan with a bakelite (plastic) handle, the handle is screwed into an insert and nothing is visible in the pan.
