Good Jacket. (Revised Review)
I think I like this jacket. I needed a new barn chore jacket, my previous one having worn out and LL Bean doesn't have that model in my size anymore. Some comments about this jacket:I think it might be fairly warm, but "Arctic?" I live in the north country, and we routinely have sub-zero days. We have hit -26 for the morning chores, so we know cold. So far, I've worn the jacket in 20 degree weather, and it's warm enough, but time will tell if it can handle the frigid days. It is light, though, which is a plus. The fit was good. I wear a large, and a large in this jacket fit pretty well. My wife says the shoulders are too big and I look like a football linebacker with it on. I'm not so sure that is a bad thing. I wouldn't mind being an NFL linebacker. While others try to lose weight, I think if I put on 20 more pounds I can be an NFL running back. I don't see any other 70 year old NFL linebackers, so there's certainly a niche there. If the look of the jacket in the shoulders bothers you, avoid reflective surfaces and you'll be fine. It's noisy, for sure. The fabric is kind of stiff, and when walking the arms rubbing against the body makes noise. That may or may not go away with breaking in. Others have mentioned the jacket stands upright when you put it on the floor, and it sure does. That doesn't bother me - I buy a jacket for durability and warmth, and this one promises to be durable. The zipper is stiff. I put some candle wax on the teeth and it smoothed out some. I suspect it just needs breaking in. The advantage of this zipper is that it is sturdy, and I can zip it with gloves on. Carhartt went the extra step by using a good zipper. The stretchy fabric on the waist is a plus for me. It allows the jacket to stretch a bit, which allows wearing a sweater under it, and makes a good seal on the bottom. It is a short jacket - raising my arms overhead, as in throwing a bale of hay, makes the jacket ride up considerably. That's a small point, though. The fabric on the cuffs is good - the sleeves are long, and on me the bottom of the sleeve folds over the elastic fabric on the cuff. All in all, I think I'll like this jacket. I expect to get at least five years out of a work jacket, and I hope this one will give that.Revision: We are in the middle of the Nor'easter of March 2018, and this jacket is a champion. Right now we're having mid-20s temps, 30-40 mph winds, and blowing snow. It's a damned blizzard, and this jacket takes it all. It is truly windproof, and even in this weather I'm as toasty as a squirrel. The hood really cinches down well over a stocking cap, which is a true plus in the blowing wind. In addition, I brushed against a jagged piece of metal this morning, metal that would have torn another coat, and this one took it without a rip.

significantly oversized and the pictures aren't accurate.
I'm 6'1" 170 lbs. because I know carhartt tends to run a little larger, I opted for a small. in no world is what I received a "small." it's not even warm because of how much empty space there is between myself and the jacket. this was extremely disappointing.moreover, and not to be too nit-picky, but the details aren't the same as in the picture. there's some small embroidery on the arm and the brand logo isn't black/grey (which I liked).

Amazing coat a little shorter than this 5'11" 185lb man with 32" waist wants
I read like far too many reviews before settling on a work coat. I run a welding business and my clothing get destroyed pretty quick, I wanted something more shielding than a standard hoodie. Anyways I'm also from a small town and no one stocks this stuff so ordered on Amazong to try out as it has free return shipping!!!! Got the coat and loved it mostly but was a little short for my liking, I am 5'11" and 180lbs, waist size 32. I am like the most average size american ever, I am constantly stuck between a Medium or large depending on brand and if I want it loose or fit. In a medium hanes tee shirt washed hot, dried hot I look a little like am trying to look tough (i am not tough haha) and large hanes washed the same way fits just loose enough to be what I would say is "loose" fit. I chose this coat over the j140 because of the warmer insulation and far more water repellant nylon. I ended up returning it as it felt to short. I went back to order a medium tall, but they don't make this in a tall until you get to large and I already felt like the state puffed marshmallow man in this coat when only wearing a tee under it. I was way bummed.I returned this coat and purchased the j140 medium tall and I love the fit!!!! It comes down covering my pants pockets which I prefer. When I lift my arms in the j140 my belly is not exposed and in this coat listed the Yukon active j133 it would lift me shirt and expose my belly even lifting one arm vertically. Really hope Carhartt choses to make this coat in a Medium tall as I will buy it in addition to my current j140 for wet weather days!

My least favorite outdoor winter workwear of all time.
I decided to write this after owning this jacket and wearing it an entire winter in Southern Indiana where it can get cold, wet, and snowy. I have a farm and work outside extensively, so I’ve really used it a lot. With all of that said, this is easily the single most disappointing Carhartt product I’ve ever purchased. It’s not water resistant, as claimed (it gets very soggy very quickly). It’s proportions are terribly off (waist is solid at 36” waist but I have a disproportionately large chest, 49 inches, and yet it’s comically loose in the chest area for me). The material is amazingly stiff (the hood sticks up when I remove it and if I push it down, it sticks up again on its own). The hood is oddly shaped which makes it very limiting for peripheral vision when trying to drive. It also doesn’t move when you move your head...so no matter what, you have to remove the hood when you’re going to drive or need anything outside of a 30 degree angle from center vision. The material remains stiff beyond belief, even after an entire season of wearing it daily for multiple hours and working in it.I’ve called Carhartt and complained. Their solution was to tumble dry the coat on low heat with multiple baseballs. I consulted my dryer manufacturer and they told me if I had done this it would have invalidated my warranty. Long story short, don’t buy it. It’s incredibly disappointing and uncomfortable, and Carhartt’s customer service people are absolutely worthless.

Sizing
This jacket is way bigger than expected. I’m 5’7” 200lbs and I ordered a medium. This jacket is a tarp on me. It’s designed for someone of a husky build. In addition, the jacket is very unforgiving. The material is durable yet stiff. It doesn’t break in over time. I was cautious when purchasing having read the reviews, and thought getting a medium would be best but I was wrong. The length dimensions of the jacket fit well, but the jacket itself is far too wide for my body type.

Bon prix bonne qualite !
Produit de qualité, mais tissu très raide , avec un peu d'usure le manteau va être parfait ! Est très chaud, reste a voir s'il est assez chaud pour un hiver Québécois !

Great jacket
Wow. This jacket is great. All the quality you would expect from Carhartt. At the moment it is a little too warm to wear but I expect that when we reach -30 or -40 it will be just fine. The outer shell is tough and even the zipper feels like it will last a long time. Great buy I'm sure it will last for a lot of years.

not happy
was exited to get the jacket, tried it on and iv never felt anything so stiff, a really uncomfortable jacket, i dont recomend it unless you like wasting your money on something youl never wear, its so stiff the hood part doesnt even touch my head, it just stands right up, and the jacket is sitting on the back of the chair with the arms spread wide open, i wouldnt want anyone to see me in this thing

Extreme performance
We work on towers in all weather conditions, very windy and a lot of places to get snagged. Jacket is tough and warm. -30 with 40 km winds exposed for over 8 hrs and needed to limit work as did not want to sweat.Very good coat for the money
