How to Design Your Own Dress Patterns: A primer in pattern making for women who like to sew

This book was written in 1959!!! But its full to the brim with fascinating info. Every page is full of line drawngs with great explanations. (One reviewer complained that the pictures were all monochrome. I'd call them helpful line drawings). I'm so excited by this book that i feel like i can now make ANYTHING. I dont need to buy another pattern. I've added a photo of just a small part of the collar-making section. Just look at those drawings... ! Amazing!

I would have thought that the patterns in this book would have been illustrated in colour. However, although I was keen to learn a new craft, I was a bit put off by the illustrations being in black ink, so it didn't appeal to me and I found the book content 'old fashioned'.

This was a gift - the recipient said it was very useful and the instructions are easy the follow.

I've owned a copy of this book since 1969 and find it priceless. Brilliant ideas, guidance and instructions. Perfect for anyone who likes to adjust and customise patterns.
