Perfect all day tac belt
Very sturdy & well made. Stiff enough to hold your gear but not big like a duty belt. Perfect all day at the office etc. Stays tight, non-metallic buckle works well at holding them in place. Normal 5.11 quality product. One suggestion - buy big, you can always cut it down shorter and burn the ends. I normally wear a 38 pants, XL "stuff" and got the XXL belt and it fit fine with some extra to just tuck in. XL would have been too small.

Extremely durable and functional
I have been wearing these belts everyday for years. They still look, feel, and function like new. After putting it on, it never loosens until you loosen it. I carry my cellular phone on the belt and it makes no difference. The nylon buckle is very important when doing auto repair, because metal belt buckles may scratch the paint on cars. When you consider the price, it may not be possible to get a better deal than this 5.11 belt.

Not a paid review, just a honest experience!
I don't like it when people give 1 star because of logistical problems (like shipping issues), so I'm going in with a review on the ACTUAL PRODUCT. I don't write reviews, but this belt is really good... also I'm been wearing it for four months and it's not fair when people give a review with first use. I wasn't paid nor given any product for this review. This is straight-up my honest experience.I am a BMX trick rider (by recreation, but I ride a lot) and I wanted a belt that was sturdy, held well, and didn't have a buckle that pinches or cuts. What interested me in this belt was the price, the buckle system, the material and the buckle itself - it has not disappointed me!Riding my bike, it holds perfectly. After a week or so of breaking in, the "bulkiness" - that some have complained about - that the belt material makes on the buckle is gone and it lays flat when fastened. The belt is super light. I wear it casually, and it holds perfect. I don't tuck in my shirt when I'm casual, but if you do, it looks just fine. I don't like the "tactical" look, but if that's your jam - it's subtle.I was skeptical of the plastic buckle, but it is great. It solves the issues of pinching or cutting a metal buckle may have, and it is much lighter. It holds very well; I have not experienced any slipping. The buckle material is that of typical buckles and fasteners you may find on a backpack or luggage (delrin?).We travelled to London and Paris for two weeks and didn't remove my belt through the metal detector - didn't have to - it's plastic! So this is an added benefit for any travelers.I'd have to say that this is my favorite belt, ever. For anybody who does any kind of physical activity in jeans - this is the one to get - but for the casual wearers, enjoy a lightweight belt that holds well. Also, I can see the practicality of survivalist stuff moreso with this belt than any other buckle system. Having gone on long distance bike/camping cycling adventures I could see applying this belt to other uses. The 511 name lives up to the reputation of quality products.

Works well, sticks out a little funny though.
It fits really nice and I like that you can tighten it as much as needed. It does lay a little funny and creates a bump under your shirt though.

Reliable and Comfortable Duty Belt
Reliable and Comfortable Duty BeltThis duty belt is exactly what I needed. It fits well, adjusts easily, and stays secure throughout the day. The durability is top-notch, holding up to daily use without any issues. It also distributes weight well, making it comfortable even when carrying gear. If you’re looking for a solid, dependable duty belt, this one does the job perfectly. Highly recommend.

No downsides after four (EDIT: thirteen!) years
I've worn this belt every day for four years. Previously I've used leather belts with punched holes, canvas belts with two-ring buckles, and belts with the metal buckle that tightens with a sliding bar.Not only is this the best belt I've owned and the best style of buckle I've ever used, but both components work as perfectly as the day I got the belt and neither shows any signs aging or wearing down (other than some very light fraying which I expect won't be an actual problem for another five years or so).I loosen my belt when I sit down and tighten it when I stand up, and it's very easy to do with this belt. I do not need to entirely undo the buckle to take my pants off; I can just loosen it most of the way (my waist size is 35/34;). I've worn it on jeans, cargo pants, and shorts. It weighs nothing. I cannot think of anything wrong with it. I expect to continue using this belt or identical replacements of it for decades.EDIT: Two years later (total of six years of everyday use), every word in this review is still true. The light fraying I mentioned shows no signs of becoming a problem soon like I suspected. Still the best belt I've ever owned, would buy it again in a heartbeat if this one were stolen or lost.EDIT: In 2020 it's one year later with no changes -- still use it every day, still haven't considered changing or replacing it for the seven years I've worn it. I have even put on about 20 lbs! By the way, I got married! See you in a year or two.EDIT: It's 2022, I lost those 20 lbs! All is still well, no change in the belt's condition. My spouse makes fun of me for how much I like this belt. This review is the closest thing to a long term blog I've had. I learned since my last update I'm autistic. I have gotten into photography and interior design during the pandemic. See you soon!EDIT: It’s 2025, still wearing it every day, and the fraying is still not an issue. I’ve attached a second photo to show the fraying—despite how it looks, the belt still smoothly inserts into the buckle. I have worn this belt every day for thirteen years. I was in school when I bought it. I’m now 34 and I’d say it’s a coin flip whether it will outlast me. We’re thinking about having a kid. Maybe one day it will become theirs. See you in a bit.
