Doves Farm Einkorn Wholemeal Flour 1kg X 5 (Pack of 5)

I am blown away by the flavour of this grain. I am trying to master making kefir einkorn bread. Just wholewheat einkorn flour, homemade kefir, evoo and salt. I Still have a way to go to get the texture right but thoroughly enjoying devouring my 'mistakes'! I am keto so whilst this is still a wheat grain, I can incorporate it in my lifestyle by counting net carbs and being very careful on the days that I eat this bread. I have been so disappointed with the numerous (costly) attempts at making strict keto bread that never satisfies or in any way resembles the taste and or texture of bread. So thought I woukd have to live with just making keto tortillas to satisfy my requirement. This has met my bread yearning. Eureka einkorn! If buying 5 packs from Alpine Heights check expiry date with them before ordering. Previous order in Oct 2024 of 5 was from superfood UK and had 5 months on it. 2nd order of 5 on 6 Apr from Alpine Heights expires 9 Jun. Not even a couple of bags sent with a longer date. I will have to freeze a couple of bags as I won't be able to use it all before it expires.

The five packs of flour were in a sealed plastic bag, in a strong cardboard box - excellent! I’ve made a loaf as it is very tasty. Quick delivery. Thoroughly recommend

I wasn't totally blown away by the taste but honestly I bought it more for the nutritional value. That said, it did add a nice depth of flavor to my bread. I make sourdough bread at home so I often use different flours for different reasons. This is good to add to some white flour to increase the nutrition. Also, very good for feeding your sourdough starter as it's a superfood for it!

I'm not celiac, but was finding that bred was giving me indigestion even though I always made my own bread. A friend suggested that I try an ancient grain flour, gave me a bag of Einkorn to try. the result was fantastic !! I now buy it from Amazon. It also makes very good pastry and biscuits.

Not baked with this yet. Am trying to use more natural cooking flours, better for my health and knowing that the flour has not been tampered with chemicals. My daughter has made loaves with this and its a completely different way of making break so am looking forward to making it.

Everything was fine. As product the flour makes a bread which has the consistency of cake. It's ok but not very bread like. There is no chew which I guess is the gluten. In my mind it's not great but if you need low gluten this might be a good option
