099B 3- Section Extension Pole Extends from 35-Inches to 92-Inches for Light Stands (Black)

Since I'm an Audio Engineer, I don't use my light stand to hold lights, but rather to hold microphones. I have a 4 meter stand, but sometimes you need to get the mics way up high. This extension will get them 5 to 6 meters high which is enough for any situation I have come across. The extension well made and is more secure than I had expected. However, when you have the mics up 6 meters you need to spread out the stand's legs as much as possible. A sandbag on each leg is not a bad idea either. I have only used this extension on a stand indoors, and I would not recommend using it outdoors.

Just as solid of a product as the rest of Manfoto gear!

Purchased 2 of these to give my strobes some extra height over the 13' stands. I am able to position 2 QFlash units close to the ceiling of high school gyms for use in sports photography. They have been rock solid and very dependable. I was a little concerned at the wobble factor from the height, but even with a stray volleyball bouncing into the light stand, no problems. (I do use a 15lb sand bag to hold them down).

I liked the easy to use and secure section knobs to make certain that things stay in place. I use this as an extension on other Manfrotto tripods.

Planning on getting more to make my set up as light and portable as possible

I use this with my portable lighting kit when I need to set a speed-grid at really high points. Does the trick just fine. I wish it were a bit more compact so it could fold down to about 26''. It's actually the longest part of my portable lighting kit, which shouldn't be the case since it's just a simple extension pole. Oh well...does the job, and I knew what I was purchasing. Just wish they made a smaller version of it. Ben

its awesome! I actually bought it to use with a 47 inch octobox. I had used a cheaper version that broke on the second shoot... this one is far far better! very strong, no flexing, and the quality you would expect from manfrotto.

Like everything Manfrotto makes, this baby is bulletproof. It's very light and yet was able to hold one stereo large diaphragm condenser mic, another mic bar, and two more small diaphragm condensers with no problem. I use it in conjunction with my Manfrotto Super Clamp and a right-angle piece to record concerts in theaters and other places where the clamp can take hold.
