Nice black, covers well, and dries nice & waterproof — good for washes and wet media.

It’s black enough for my needs, doesn’t have a shiny layer after it dries. Works for both fountain and brush pens just fine, and unlike a lot of inks that say “waterproof”, it actually is waterproof. Also it dries extremely quickly, so you’re unlikely to accidentally smudge it. I’ve been an artist for several years, and although I’ve hardly tried all black inks, this is my favorite so far.

Sketching in a moleskine art sketchbook and sailor fude pen. I let my line drawing dry for about half an hour before applying water for watercolor, and everything started to spread. Such a bummer.

Yes - This is waterproof, black ink. But - The black is more of a grey-black, not the darker black I was expecting based on reviews. I should have checked more reviews I suppose, but thought I had enough info to make an informed purchase. If you want a nice, dark black ink, this ain't it. If you just want a waterproof black ink this will work fine. Three stars for the color and the higher price.

Great ink, but make sure you use in a "juicy" and cheap fountain pen. I put it in my Kakuno Fine and it kept drying at the nib when I would stop drawing for longer than a few seconds. I'll probably use it with a brush from now on.

After researching reviews and experiments on YouTube I decided to buy this as my ink for my watercolor drawings. I immdiately tested it out and loved how quickly you can paint watercolor over it with no smudging of the ink
