Improved My Gameplay, Tenfold
Love this. Sometimes, you open a box, take out a product, and know you have quality in your hands. This was one of those times. Feels great in the hands, sturdy and real quality. Customisable buttons, very easy to set up, the website even has game-specific mapping to download. I've become a lot better at Call of Duty, and have convinced one of my 'squad' to buy the same thing, and bought another for my other 'squad' member. Even at £109, I've bought 2 of these now, and don't feel like I've wasted a penny. Money well spent and months/years of enjoyment from this controller,

I wanted an Xbox style Controller for my PS4
Long story short it's a great gaming pad except for two reasons the analog sticks feel really loose and stick sensitivity can't fix it. And the second problem is the size it is a bit too big (noticed after gaming for 3+ hours that my hands felt uncomfortable holding the controller. For people with big hands. Apart from the somewhat loose thumbsticks, it is a good pro controller (Maybe you can find a workaround using the controller software). Currently using it as an on/off PC gaming pad which is a great plus for me (I have an old Xbox360 pad for the PC which feels better stick-wise it has its own problems).

Better than...
-- Dec 2021 Update - 1 star lost: I got this controller July 2020. Last 2 months have seen a decline in the L1, R1 shoulder buttons, they are close to becomining unplayable. I opened up the controller and could see where the problem is, unfortunately Nacon dont offer seeling sparts for me to fix. Anyway this controller has lasted longer than all previous controls I've had. Just a shame the bar is so low for controllers durability that I am praising it for lasting 16 months! -- I have had this for 4 months now, which is past the milestone i set of 3 months to write a review, as that is when my Scuf had to be sent back to be fixed. and then a further 2 times in the space of 1 year. I decided to look for alternatives, after much deliberation I chose Nacon Revolution Unlimited Pro. I use it mainly on PC, but also PS4. The Sticks: Out the gate I had to play with the sensitivity of the Nacon as it was crazy loose, there was no resistance on the sticks like you get with Scuf/ps4 controllers. However after playing with the sensativity (lowering sensativity) I found it so much better, it felt smooth and what i imagine playing with mouse would be like. The sticks are positionally different, more like an xbox controller, which I used to prefer and took a few days to adjust back to it. 2 styles of sticks come with it domed/concave, I use both, dome on the left stick and concave on the right. Also comes with 3 different sizes of stick, when i purchased it i assumed it was differences in height, unfortunately its the thickness of the sticks that is different. I have no idea what i would use the thicker versions for, I am sure its for a reason. I did try it on a shooter, but it doesnt allow for full movement. This is the only disapointment; height of sticks would be prefered over the thickness. Back Buttons: Main reason I chose this was to try 4 back buttons rather than than the 2 had before. My grip of the controller only allows me to use 3 of the buttons without it feeling awkward, i struggle with the bottom button with my right hand. This is not a reflection of the controller but of me. The back buttons are very responsive, it has just enough resistance that im not hitting them accidently. Positionally they are good for me. One of the buttons has developed a little squeek every now and then when i press it, however it has not effected the performance of the button. Triggers: Well this is where this controller really comes into its own for me, which was surprising as I didnt give this area a high priority at all. I was playing fortnite with this controller, as you will likely know it requires a lot of building, and the response time of hitting the triggers was really noticeable. It felt like I was using keyboard buttons on a controller, and its something i never noticed on scuf/ps4 controllers, but they have a slight delay when using the triggers compared to this. Software: You can have 4 profiles set for PC and 4 more profiles for PS4. Which makes it easier to switch games as you wont need to remap everytime, especially if you have 4 games that you regularly rotate, or 8 if you have both PC and ps4. The software offeres more customisation with trigger sensativity, stick sensativity, deadzones and button mapping for back buttons. Build: It feels real nice, sturdy and has good weight to it. It comes with 3 different weights that you can change, personally I am not using any additional weight. I use it most days and it has no wear on the sticks of the where my hand wraps around the controller. The triggers are sturdy also, which is novel as every controller I have had the R2 button has always been problematic, not here though! USB Connector: 2m long and strong. 4 months of daily use, if problems arise I will edit this. Until then, its the best controller I have used! Games I have played with this controller: COD Fortnite Fall Guys Tony Hawks The Last of Us II Horizon Zero Dawn

Wouldn't recommend for anyone who enjoys gaming regularly
Initially loved the 4 profiles, and the ability to customise one to your preference. It's great having choice. However this has now become a necessity as the right analogue drifts dramatically to the left. have tried cleaning it, looking online for firmware to update but nothing helps. I've resorted to pumping the dead zone all the way to THIRTY in order to mitigate but in all honesty it still drifts (see image included). The right shoulder button is arguably a bigger problem (see video); the click mechanism broke within a few weeks and thus will trigger at the slightest touch. There is no tactile resistance so often it will trigger at the most inopportune moments. The result is First Person Shooters are pretty unplayable unless you keep your thumb on the right analogue to prevent drift, and you'll randomly throw a grenade because your finger lightly brushed the right button... your player will spin on the spot as soon as you release your thumb. It's not ideal. I've contacted them twice for some recompense and have yet to hear back. I'm now back on my official PS Pro controller and, whilst I don't have back triggers, I am at least in full control of my games (albeit +£100 down).

Add the competitive edge into your gaming experience.
I have had 4 dual shock 4 controllers since owning a PS4 and a PS4 pro and to be honest, with this controller the feel and the ergonomics of the controller are fantastic. The customisability is awesome and let’s you hone in your settings and set up to 4 game presets. Good if you’re wanting to use steady aim and then switch to a quicker fast paced run and gun set up with the click of a button without needing to take your thumbs off the joysticks. Build quality is great and with being able to swap weights and make it lighter or heavier it adds to a really nice feel which you can balance to your needs. LED RGB options are cool but I’m not really too fussy about that feature but it is sweet that you can choose a variety of colours in different light up modes from constant, cycled etc. The S buttons are a game changer. If you’re playing FPS games and you need to duck or switch out guns you don’t need to take your thumbs off the analogue sticks so you can keep aiming. This is miles better than the dated and plastic feel of the DS4. It’s nice that you can change the analogue sticks for more finer aiming.

Xbox style pad for your PS4
For playstation users their officially licensed choice of upgrade from the standard DS4 is either this Nacon revolution pro pad or the Razer Raiju Unlimited pad. Neither have the PS D.N.A in their design. The Nacon is more like an Xbox 360 pad and the Razer is an Xbox Elite pad with symmetrical sticks. I personally play with my left index resting on L1, left middle on L2, right index resting on R1 and right middle on R2. This is what I like to call Playstation Stance. The other where you play with only your left and right index fingers doing all the work I like to call Xbox stance. So you're looking to spend just over £100 which is a little over 2 whole brand new vanilla DS4's is it worth it? Well if you switched this gen to PS from XB then yes its worth it. The pad will form to your hands like a 360 pad. It has the added bonuses of 4 mappable buttons but imho are awkwardly placed. The overall feel is nice, it has a matte textured finish that eliminates fingerprints and it has oversized face buttons much larger than stock DS4 face buttons. I will say that the D-Pad and face buttons apart from the bumpers have a real mushy feel to them. It will take a real push to register the button and I don't like that I prefer responsive clicky buttons which the L1 R1 are on this so why didn't they make them all like this??? One important thing to note with this pad is that it needs to take up a USB slot to function since it comes with a rather large dongle that does the wireless communication between you and your PS4. So this becomes a problem if you are using an external HDD like I am and you run out of puff during play. Since the PS4 comes with only 2 USB ports. 1 is taken by your external HDD with all your games and the other by this unruly long/large uneccessary dongle how you gonna plug n charge your pad when it runs outta puff??? I mean the stock DS4 communicates perfectly without needing a dongle why can't this pro pad??? There's an app where you can customize everything even Y axis and deadzones so if that's what you are looking for Nacon has you covered. I've always been playing on PS so I prefer PS stance at all times. This is why I wish Sony would just design one themselves. None of the pro pads available have the Dual Shock DNA which I am used to. I sent this back as the way the pad is made pushes you to Xbox stance. If you try to use it in PS stance the buttons don't sit/feel right and the 4 mappable buttons are moved from your ring/pinkie fingers so its a pain to use them as you gotta contort your wrists everytime.....urrrgh! So in conclusion if you are looking for a pro pad and don't mind using Xbox stance then Nacon is worth it for the price over the Razer Ultimate. It has a nice feel to it and you can customize the buttons. So bump the review to 5 stars. Ergonomics & comfort to 5 if you are an Xbox stance player but battery life stays at 3.....near enough same as a stock DS4. But if you are PS ingrained since the PS1 days and your hands have evolved side by side with the DS by having the pad in your hands as you were growing up as a kid constantly DO NOT BUY this pad you will immediately be pushed to Xbox stance and the feel will be weird. Sure you could learn to like it but why buy something over £100 just to try to learn to live with it? Still waiting on Sony to make their own pro pad........

Best licensed 3rd party controller for the PS4
Fantastic controller for anyone who isn’t a fan of the parallel stick layout on PS4, the controller has nice contoured grips, easy to activate additional buttons, and the default update with the profiles works well, build quality is heaps above their other controllers and better than any scuff or modded controller available. The only controller I would compare this to in terms of feel and quality would be the Xbox one Elite controller with the scuff grips and sticks installed, but to use that you need a decent adapter plus the scuff elite pack and the controller so that makes this a bargain.
