Orthodontic Study Model Base Formers. Standard adult size. Set of Four. Designed by our laboratory department to create accurate orthodontic plaster models. Designed and manufactured in Lake Forest, California USA. Dimensions: Width 4-1/2", Depth 1-3/4", Length 3" Part No. 002 Features and Benefits: Create accurate Tweed specification models. Made from clear plastic injection molded PVC. Flexible material facilitates separation and cleaning. Rigid walls assure shape during vibration. Two sizes available: standard and pedodontic. NOTE: This listing is for the standard adult size. Deeper than existing products (1-3/4") to facilitate consistent model height. Infinitely reusable. Universal: can be used on upper or lower arch. Impression need not be placed perfectly to obtain an accurate trim. Written/ illustrated instructions included. Instructions For Standard Height Base (see photos): 1. Accurately measure and weigh the water to plaster ratio: Standard (p/n 002) 280ml water/ 800gm plaster, Pedodontic (p/n 003) 210ml water/ 600gm plaster (per complete patient set). 2. Pour plaster under vibration until plaster overflows from leading edge. Allow adequate gel time prior to placing poured-up impression on base. 3. Unearth impression with a No. 6 Kingsley-Type Scraper. Note: For maximum height base use additional plaster. Without the aid of vibration, add plaster level with the top edges of the base former using a Buffalo No. 11R 3-1/2" Spatula. Allow adequate gel time prior to placing poured-up impression on base. 4. Remove plaster from the tongue area of the mandibular cast. 5. Add plaster to the retro molar pad area of mandibular cast. 6. Separate base former using release ears . Note: Does not include models.
