Jamaican Black Castor Oil 8oz | Rich in Vitamin E, Omega Fatty Acids & Minerals | For Hair Growth Oil, Skin Conditioning, Eyebrows & Eyelashes, Scalp and Nail Care

The difference between Jamaican black castor oil and regular castor oil is the method in which it is processed. Both are great for skin and hair health. Pure natural castor oil is a pale yellow/light golden color and is cold pressed. There is no heat involved in cold pressing, the castor beans are just squeezed at high pressure to extract oil from the seeds. The advantage of cold pressing is that you do not harm any of the beneficial nutrients. Be aware that some companies will also use a solvent chemical such as hexane to separate the oil making production quicker and cheaper. So if you go that route, research and make sure that the castor oil you choose is reputable 100% pure and 100% cold pressed without use of chemicals. Jamaican black castor oil gets its distinct smokey roasted smell and darker color by the process in which it is made. Traditionally it is made by 1) allowing the seeds to dry out in the sun 2) roasting them 3) grinding them into a paste 4) adding the paste to boiling water 5 skimming the oil that rises to the top It can vary in color from a lighter brown hue to a very dark brown. Sometimes you may see particles settle at the bottom of the bottle, which is just ash from roasting the castor beans. This is a very thick heavy oil. Personally I prefer to dilute it. The first way I use it is by combining equal parts extra virgin olive oil with Jamaican black castor oil and a few drops of rosemary essential oil. Great to help promote hair growth and grow back thinning hair. I apply this to my scalp every night or at least every other night before bed, especially focusing on my thinning edges. Second I make a whipped hair butter by 1) using the double boiler method I melt equal parts (1/3 cup each) Shea butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil 2) when it has cooled a bit I add in my JBCO, EVOO, and rosemary mixture (1/3 cup) (you can add other essential oils if you choose as well) 3) put bowl in the fridge or freezer just until it starts to solidify but not completely solid 4) whip up into your desired consistency This is a great butter for your hair but can also double as a body butter. Lastly I put straight Jamaican black castor oil with a drop of lavender and rosemary essential oil into an empty mascara type container and I apply that to my eyebrows every night before bed. The jamaican black castor oil is also great to use as a pre poo treatment or even hot oil treatment. The key to seeing results for hair growth, growing back thinning hair and thickening hair is consistency! You have to keep up with it, making it a routine. You cant just give up after a few days or a week and expect results. I have seen results in growing back my thinning edges as well as making my hair thicker, even my eyebrows which were prior quite sparse. It also has made my hair very soft and shiny.

Well I have heard alot of good reviews about this product and so far I am not that impressed yet(it's ok but I like it at the same time so far...First ill get to the negative of this product, the consistancy is not like other castor oils...I have read the reviews on this oil and from the reviews I had the impression that this castor oil was just too thick(thats what I like thick oil to seal the ends of my hair) but this oil is a bit watery compared to other brands of castor oils that I have used. And because this castor oil is not thick enough for me to seal my ends I had to purchase another brand to do the job. Now the positive so far is: I actually like the smell of this oil, I know that some people who reviewed this product did't care for the smell but it smells good, it smells like roasted coffe beans..lol..but the smell does not linger so thats a plus as well. another positive that I like about this oil is that once I applied the oil to my scalp my scalp started to tingle..I was not expecting for this oil to give my scalp a nice tingling sensation..Now myself I am a big fan of tingling sensations on my scalp, it lets me know that somthing is going on...Most growth aides that I use have a tingling sensation(but this castor oil has my scalp tingling more than any other growth aid I have ever used, the tingling last for 15- 45 min..other growth aides last 2-5 min) and everytime I get the tingles a month later my hair sprouts with crazy growth...Now I am not sure if that tingling sensation that I am getting from this product means a month later ill have crazy growth but from past experiances with other growth aids(which has managed to aide in giving me growth to the point of achieving bra stap length afro textured hair) the tingling sensation usually means that I have purchased a damn good growth aide...So I am going to have to come back and do an update within a month or two if this product has givin me crazy growth...But so far the tingling is a plus..Another positive is that this oil alone makes my hair supper soft....it's rare that a oil alone can make my curley, kinky, wavy hair so soft(besides my coconut oil)...So the positives out way the negatives so far but I really didn't want to buy another castor oil after spending money on this item which is more expensive then other brands of castor oils. Now if I don't get crazy growth from this oil then ill add that to my negative list ...as far as this item making my hair soft well my coconut oil does that as well...So basically when I update my review on this poduct in about a month or two maybe three, it will be about rather or not this item has givin me crazy results or some good growth results and if my hair has thickned up alot. UPDATE: OK it's been a month almost and this item does work very well, but here is the catch.....I also use BEE MINE sulfur serum with this oil and my hair has grown alot and has thickened up...so I will purchase this castor oil to work with my sulfur serum.....So this is a good product.

This works incredibly well on blepharitis.I have had incredibly expensive prescriptions to try to fight this problem. Some of them $60 for a tiny bottle of spray. Within just two or three nights of rubbing this on my eyes before I went to bed had an immediate effect - more effect in three nights than in three years. I know some people dislike the aroma. I didn't find it so strong that it was offensive and I have a pretty sensitive nose. To get the best results, I soak my eyes with a very warm washcloth for about five minutes. I follow this by taking just a fingertip full of this to rub on each eye. I dab off any excess with a washcloth, leaving a light residue behind. When I wake up in the morning I wash my face. It is rare that I don't see an improvement each day. By getting rid of this problem I won't have to be on medications to keep my eyes moist. Additionally, I see my eyelashes getting thicker as they aren't falling out as regularly. This is worth trying for anyone. I'm starting to try this on the part in my hair. It is thinning because my hair is long and heavy. I have seen a number of people report that this helps hair regrowth. After using it for a little over a month I believe they are right and I am encouraged to use it for about six months as an experiment. Update: 6/7/17 Wow! Great results. Not only has this eliminated the fallout of my eyelashes, they have really thickened up. I have almost completely eliminated the itchy residue that accompanies blepharitis. It is rare to experience a problem. Now for the impact on my hair... thick, thick, thick. My hair has the volume it did when I was decades younger. This could also be in part to a real focus on healthy eating. The thinning part in my hair has nearly disappeared. I have very little fallout of hair where my long hair used to leave quite a pile on the shower floor. This is an inexpensive bargain for the impact it has. I have recommended it to others with the same challenges I have faced. I am hoping it will do the job for them.

As my title suggests, I love this product. It is great for both relaxed and natural people when used to moisturize hair and seal the ends. I found great benefits from pouring it in my hands and then running my hands through my relaxed hair. My hair would always end up super soft and luxurious feeling no matter what other shampoo or conditioner I used with it. I have found similar results after going natural but not as dramatic as when I was relaxed. I think where some people run into trouble is when they apply this product directly to their scalp. I would strongly advise against that. I do not have a sensitive scalp but when I placed this product on my scalp, I experienced terrible itching and raised bumps all over my head. Further research showed that others also experienced this. The itching and the bumps did not go away after one wash. It took maybe two washes for the symptoms to subside. I did, however and unfortunately, notice more growth around my edges where I was using the product on my scalp. I just felt in the end that the pain was not worth it. If you really want to try it on your scalp (because I do know at least one person for whom this product did not cause a negative reaction), I would use the spot treatment method. Apply it to one spot on your scalp and note if you feel any different. Then wait until the next morning before trying it elsewhere on your scalp. I always felt it by the morning. With regard to nature of the product itself, firstly, it does not have a strong smell. It's a bit musky and smells like something a man would wear but that smell goes away very quickly. I am very sensitive to product odors so this really would have bothered me if it was really bad. In addition, the oil is very thick and it is almost clear in appearance. Despite my negative reaction to it when using it directly on my scalp, I will keep using it because it is a great moisturizer for my hair strands. And though I will not use it on my scalp, I acknowledge that it may work for others who are not sensitive to it. Good luck!

This Jamaican Black Castor oil has been a great addition to my routine. It’s thick, nourishing, and works well for both hair and skin. I’ve noticed an improvement in my hair’s texture and growth, and it also helps moisturize my skin without feeling greasy. The oil has a slightly strong scent, but it’s not overwhelming. Overall, I’m really pleased with the results and would recommend it to anyone looking to improve their hair and skin care routine.

Hey everyone I just ordered this item recently on a Saturday which was 9/7/13. And I'm going to start off with a 5 star rating just for the hype. I am going to do a hair growth challenge, and I will be using this castor oil and I will be using their pimento oil. I am natural and have very kinky/coily hair ranging from 3's to the 4's. I my hair is a decent length...but shrinkage is a betch, but sometimes I love it. I just want my hair to be at my shoulders but curly with shrinkage and all. My hair grows on average 1/2 inch a month or a little over depending on protective styles. I notice that my hair does well when I keep my hair in twist under a wig haha. So I will be wearing wigs, for my challenge. I'm also going to try to come up with a routine for me to do and follow. I have never been on a regiment for my hair. I really like simple. But I also wanted to incorporate oils into my new regiment. Never done it before, but I think that will change the health of my hair in a good way. Routine: Wash hair every week hot oil treatment(olive oil) deep conditioning/protein treatment(egg mixed with deep conditioner) Split my hair into sections Apply castor/pimento oil to scalp. Detangle each section Twist each section Put wig cap on and wig Then repeat every week Throughout the week I will be applying the castor/pimento oil to my scalp where I have the plaited sections from my twist every night and sleep with a silk bonnet. Length Checks: Will be every month. Right now my hair ranges to 9'-9 1/2' all over my head, but I will do official checks to have a clear starting point. Goals: Want softer/stronger/healthier hair, and I want to maximize hair growth. I want to have grown/retained 6 inches in 6 months. And that would be perfect for Spring break. This is a great product. If you are looking to growing your thinning hair back in then this is the product you want. It does not work overnight. It takes months to see results. I have been using every night for 5 months. I almost quit at the 2nd month didn't feel like I was seeing results. So glad I didn't give up. At 4 months I took pictures of the top of my head and compared them to the day one photos. I was shocked at the difference, and to think I almost gave up. It takes true dedication to put this on every night and get up every morning and wash it out. But I was desperate I was seeing my head shine on top it was so thin. Now, no shiny spots in my head. I will never quit using this product. I feel like I can eventually get a full head of hair like I once had. I am still a work in progress, but no shiny balding spots on top now. Oh, and I am Caucasian so it will work for anyone. Like the review above said watch where you buy it, I also received oil that was more clear and not the same as I had been using.
