I'm restoring a 1975 Trans Am and changing the interior from red to black. I used the SEM black Dye and used the SEM satin clear. It worked well but was a little too shiny for me so I purchased this SEM Lackluster Clear Coat. You only need two to three light coats. Seals well and works better that other brands of vinyl clear coats. It dries quickly in between coats. End results are excellent and long lasting. Highly recommended for auto interiors. I did prep with Vinyl Prep and used some warm water and dawn soap to clean and de-grease the parts that I am going to dye and clear. The dye and clear will stick better if you prep properly.

It was a pain trying to figure out the temp and humidity to spray it at but once figured out It was golden. I really wish they had directions on the can. 40 humidity at 70° Worked for me. You can by humidity gauges for cheap. Read the other reviews someone goes into great detail describing this method I guess you can say. Other then that don't bother. He is also correct about sheen. It does match my F150 panels almost perfect for matching to the old. Tiny bit darker. Truck is 6 years old though. I would use this for all my panels if I do paint them with the SEM satin black. I don't like it to shiny.

Great Product

Refinished a steering wheel that the finish was deteriorated. I sprayed color coat black and then used this clear. Steering wheel looks like new!

Can't imagine using any other clear coat after trying SEM. Is it pricey? Yes, but this is one of those instances where if you want a perfect finish, you get what you pay for.

Works great! Does the job! Just too expensive. Better price online. Google before you buy and compare price.
