Excellent setup for the price
I needed a simple and versatile setup that did not cost a fortune. This is it! I was very surprised by the quality of the greenscreen and frame: very sturdy. Make sure you have a good iron handy to get rid of the seams on the backdrop. The light stands are the usual light-weight frames, but they don't need to be heavier. They are very easy to move and adjust after setup. It does take some tinkering to figure out how to set up the softboxes as there are no directions included. The softbox frame rods fit into holes around the light head. Just insert the thicker end of the rods into the holes in a symmetrical pattern and then slide the softbox over them and insert the thin ends into the little pockets in the corners of the softbox. Hint: I put the softbox over the stands BEFORE I put the light head onto the stand, then it's easier to pull the box over the rods. It's also helpful to have a fourth light: a Fill light, if you are doing greenscreen. The fill light can just be a short stand light with a focus ring...no soft box needed. But this kit is a great start to making good quality video. And it comes in a very sturdy canvas carrying bag...just pay attention to how it is packed when you get it, because it is a tight fit and you need to remember how to repack everything. All the bulbs are individually boxed, securely kept in styrofoam molds. Excellent buy for the price.

Mine is great... possibly a quality control issue?
***EDIT*** After what I would consider minor use of this product, a couple of things have begun to show their lack of quality. I did expect this for the price paid, and I'm still OK with that but I am not OK with the bag becoming unusable. The included carrying bag has ripped at the zipper in one spot, and one of the zippers no longer function at all. In my opinion, don't even include the bag if you can't get any better of a zipper than that. Nothing worse than a broke zipper, it's a pain and looks unprofessional. I also have some concerns about the straps, but I think they will hold out. Wouldn't have hurt for the straps to be just a little thicker. I am going to have my wife sew a new zipper on it (I would have paid 3 bucks more for a decent zipper, come on). While at it, going to make some felt sleeves for the stands, it should be easy and fast and provide good protection. ***END EDIT*** I've read other reviews touting how terrible this kit is, but I went against their recommendations because this was personally recommended to me from someone I trust. I'm glad I got it, the set is a great value considering what you get with it. The lights are very bright, and work great for what I need. The color temperature of the soft boxes is on the cool/blue end of the spectrum, but that isn't a big deal since it can be fixed in post with some color grading. The stands that everyone complains about were just fine for me. The instructions were useless, but once I figured out the jist of how it worked I was able to assemble without any instructions. You can tell that obviously the stands are "just enough to get by", meaning they are flimsy and require great care. I don't have a problem with that though, as at this price point that is what I expected. I really don't see why so many complaints, this light kit is great and treated delicately, I think I can get years of use out of it. I also don't get the people complaining about the stands possibility of toppling over. First and foremost, anyone with experience in the film industry knows that you need to sandbag all stands, these included. Second, I have a sneaking suspicion they aren't using the stands correctly. Nothing prevents you from over or under-extending the tripod feet. You have to extend the feet out such that the middle brace bars are parallel with the floor. I suspect some people have them too high or too low. They seem very sturdy at the correct extension if you ask me, and that's true no matter how good or bad of a unit you received. I will say that I'm already having trouble out of the zippers on the bag it came with. The bag is amazing and I absolutely love it, but if the zippers don't hold up, it's useless to me. I will be very disappointed if I end up with problems there, as I just don't think a zipper is something any product, no matter how cheap, should cheap out on. I will update this review if anything changes, but for now I am leaving it as 5 stars since I have yet to experience any problems.

The stands are absolute junk
I purchased this kit because I wanted a nice set that would be all inclusive to do some chromakey work on. Depending on what you need, my review may differ for you but I give it one star because a chain is only as strong as it's weakest link. The screen itself is fine, no problems. The lights put out a nice amount of light and looks professional enough. The amount of light is fine for the price. The stands are absolutely terrible. They are made from extremely thin metal and the clamps are a cheap plastic. One of the clamps was stripped out by the screw inside of it making it impossible to tighten or loosen for that matter. Also, the clamps are not strong enough to hold the extensions once any weight is applied to the top. With the crossbar and weight from the cloth attached, the extension poles slide down. I have the issue on every single one of the poles that came with the lights and the green screen so it's not exactly an isolated problem. Unless I'm either sitting down or filming a group of midgets, the stand is unusable. I cannot recommend that anyone purchase this product. I hate it and wish that I had spent more money on quality. I ended up having to buy it anyway and just ended up losing the money I spent here. Even if you don't have the cash for better equipment, I'd say just go with a DIY kit until you can save a bit and get something worthwhile. Edit: I find it curious that 2 out of 3 people haven't found my review helpful. I would think you'd be happy to know about a real issue with the product when using it in a similar situation. *SMH

Returning this ASAP
Everything was packaged nice or at least it seemed so when I opened it. Then I saw that one of the bulbs was broken on arrival. OK that I can understand stuff like that happens but once I started setting this up it was apparent how cheap the stands are made. I guess you get what you pay for. They collapse under their own weight even when they are tightened. I saw another reviewer point this out and now I know what that person was talking about. Also, the instructions aren't the best and in the pictures it wasn't even the same model that I got. I know because mine has 4 bulb slots and the one in the picture has 5. Oh and the instructions are one page. That's it. This thing just screams cheap so I guess I got what I paid for. Returning tomorrow.
