Japanese Autumn Folding Wall Fan Hand-painted Wall Decor Art (40 inch wide)

I am thrilled that this is slightly different than depicted (when is that ever a good thing?? Lol). I was looking to bring a little more life to my oriental room, and this exceeded my expectations. I was honestly worried it might be a little too dull or dark to elicit the mood I was searching for; but upon arrival and inspection, the fan had a little less blue with added strokes of orange and purple. Other noticeable differences are: the tree trunk appears more textured by feathering strokes; the birds are a different species and in different positions; and the waterfall is narrower with different strokes used to create the casting of the sunlight. This appears genuinely hand painted, buttressed by its diversion from the depicted photo. So if you are looking for a crisper, printed sort of look, this may not be for you. I am very pleased with this purchase. I will say if you plan on fanning with it, there is a... hint of farm/zoo smell to it. As it is hanging on my wall, however, (and I had prepared myself thanks to advanced warning via reviews of other fans), I could care less. Thank you for the beautiful work of art!!

Looks very nice on the living room wall. Needs to air out after removing from the package. Smelled like cattle. Must be the dyes or the material or both! I placed it outside for a long while.

Pretty fan but i wanted a glossy sil look. so i sprayed clear gloss on the fan. I also made the folds line up better.It is hand made after that I mounted on my wall and i love it.

I bought this for my daughter for her Asian themed room and was a bit concerned about how the painting would look in person. I have to say I am impressed by the quality and the painting. It is beautiful and fits her room perfectly. She loves it! It is a bit tricky to hang up though. I have the middle of it resting on a screw set in a drywall anchor to hold the weight. We tried different kinds of tape but none of them kept the fan from falling forwards due to the weight of it. I didn't want to tear the fabric by using pins so we bought a set of wall mirror hangers and used those around the top. They just slide over the fabric and hold it in place and because they are clear you really don't notice them. I would recommend this fan to anyone.

I choose this rating because of a problem with the paint used for this beautiful fan. I have had it on my bedroom wall for multiple weeks and their is a very strong smell from the paint. I even removed the fan and let it air out side on my porch for two or three days and the smell is still strong. Unless this is an unusual event, I would not recommend this product if it is your intent to hang it in your bedroom.

Using them in the top of our arch style windows as shade I had some paper ones before but, they have seen their better days. I hope you like my idea. very inexpensive .

The artwork on the fan is amazing. It is also very well constructed and looks exactly as depicted. The packaging was secure and the fan was received in excellent condition. I am very happy with my purchase.

The fan is a somewhat pretty piece. It's clearly hand-painted and I liked the appearance of it. I was going to use it in a window. Problem is when I opened the box something smelled odd. I came back later and took it out of the box and was overwhelmed when it came out of the box, when I first entered the room I noticed the same smell was filling the room now. When the pain came out of the box it was clear it was a terrible odor. I put it out in the garage for a few days. During that time, twice I had Neighbors come into my garage and say what is that terrible smell. The best I can describe it is a bar in that's never been cleaned. This thing smells horrible. That is why I sent it back because the smell just would not fade away.
