A HUGE UPGRADE!!! ELECTRIC84 Electric Projection Screen (84 Inch 16:9 AR)
I've had HD projectors for about 10 years. The whole time has been with a painted wall. I've read several reviews touting screens and doubted very much that they were worth the money. I had my setup with the painted wall in the living room where my fiancee graciously allowed the wall space. I wanted her to have a "normal" wall with say a mirror or large picture above the fireplace. I started looking into screens. I thought one with an electric motor would be cost prohibitive...until I started looking at the Elite line of screens. I wanted a smaller screen, less than the size I had painted. I found the 84" with an electric motor for an astonishing $149. I just had to try it, especially after reading all the glowing reviews. I was skeptical about how much better it could be, but several reviewers said it would be a noticable..."night and day" even. The setup was incredibly easy. Basically 2 screws required for wall mounting. This makes it very flush to the wall, the one where the mirror or picture was supposed to go. I ended up mounting it using shelving brackets and an S hook to project it out a little farther. Again, very easy to do.So finally (sorry) the good part. Since I just upgraded my system to 3D, I wanted to watch something 3D. Titanic would work. The picture did look great, but not really "night and day". That wasn't until the next night when I agreed to watch something 2D to appease my 3D saturated fiancee. It was a "chic flick" I got from Netflix..."One Day" with Anne Hathaway. I was thinking, "I finally have my dream system and I'm watching a mediocre movie". Was I wrong. I noticed even with OK content, the difference with the screen (rather than the painted wall) was literally "night and day". From even the credits and opening sceens, the picture was bright, crisp and highly detailed. I kept (actually we) WOWing at the picture quality...almost like 3D without the glasses. I've watched streaming content from Netflix and Amazon Prime with an equal WOW factor. If you're either starting a home theater and you've read the many blog about screens versus walls, ignore them and buy one of these screens. If you want to upgrade, don't hesitate. You won't be disappointed. No matter what components you have or projector, it will definitely look the best it can with one of these babies.

Exceeded all expectations
I am still quite frankly shocked that this came with all it did for less than the price of some manual screens. And it didn't advertise all that it came with.First of all, I don't know if it's for a limited time, but when I got my box it came with a rebate for a free ceiling attachment for your projector. If, for example, you want to use it in a workout room and don't want someone jumping in front of your picture if the projector is on the floor. Or, if you want it unencumbered away from your floor or furniture for aesthetic reasons. Then there is another rebate for a remote wall switch. But what's great about that is that this already comes with a wall switch and a remote so no matter where you are in the room, you can raise and lower the screen. It also can be hooked up to your projector to automatically raise and lower when you turn your projector on if your projector allows that, and many now do.You can easily hang this with the attachments and it can be hung on ceiling or wall. The rectangular shape works with the wide screen TV and movie format and the size is perfect for BIG viewing. There are levels of quality in screens and although this may be budget priced, it is an EXCELLENT screen with phenomenal clarity and amazing ease of operation and "wow" factor. For me, I have it in front of two closets. I wanted to do my room lengthwise but the closets precluded a fixed screen in that area. Now, my screen electronically lowers from the ceiling when it's movie or TV time, and it raises when I'm done away from me and with easy access to both closets. It's hidden from view and unencumbered and with all that came with it, it exceeded expectations and I have no complaints.Note: they even included the LEVEL with this so you can be sure you hung it level!

Installed as a gift
I installed this as a gift for my Dad in his basement to set up a home theater (along with speakers, projector, receiver, bluray, appletv, etc).Other than the projector, this really is the centerpiece of the system. I went with the 84" model because of vertical beams on the walls and a low ceiling that would have obstructed the use of anything larger. Even the 84" was a stretch, I had to bore out a portion of one of the side beams to fit the casing of the projector into it, by about 3/4". It is a bit wider than the specs state, so be prepared to modify the casing/brackets to suit your needs, if necessary. The open/close motion is smooth and fluid, though a bit loud if you don't have the sound/music going already. The included remote is handy. Open/close speed is rather slow, for my expectations. I have a custom installed Draper in ceiling screen for my own home theater that seems about 4x faster. The wall switch is not a worthwhile addition. The cord is only about 4' and far too short to be of any use. Further, it is a surface mount switch and is all black. It does not look nice or blend well with most decor. I'd much rather see a switch that could fit into a standard 1 gang wall box or low voltage bracket. It should be made to work over a rj11 phone cord or 2wire speaker cable, which anyone installing one of these systems should already have an abundance of.There is no adjustable open/close levels or limit switches you can adjust, it is either fully opened or fully closed, unless you want to open all the way and tweak it up/down using the stop button. That is not repeatable, so any vertical adjustment to optimize picture position has to happen via your projector mount, or by physically moving the entire screen mount up/down further if needed.Otherwise, the display quality is good, gain and while levels are appropriate and has a nice picture (used in this case with an epson 1080p projector)
