Japanese Beetle Problem? Get this now!
100% works! I had no idea how many beetles were around my house. After the bags, I have come to learn it's in the thousands. 7 hours after putting 3 bags up, they were each half full and filled between 1/3 and 1/2 of the painter bucket I dumped them in.Key tips to prevent chaos:1. Setup the bags OUTDOORS in the morning or evening, during their dormant period. (DON'T do what I did and set them up at 1pm during their PEAK period! It looked like a swarm of locusts as I was putting together the bag and hanging it up. You will smell the scent of the pod attachment, it's not pleasant so do not open it up or dispose of the silver wrapper indoors. (see 5.)2. When emptying... Make sure to have a container ready, filled about half way with water and soap. The bag does not kill them, just catches them. I used a painters bucket because I saw I had caught a lot and knew that was the only way to effectively kill them. The bag is resealable so I could close the bottom back up after.3. Do not place them on or near your affected plants. Instructions suggest at least 30ft away. The bag WILL attract more than you think and they don't always go right for the bag.4. Do NOT touch any of your plants after handling the bag. It will attract the beetles in mass. Wash your hands several times as it is potent.5. The silver pouch containing the 'scent' attachment is covered in the aroma. Dispose of it in an outdoor trashcan and move the trashcan away from any plants you care about. Think of it now as a mini bag...For years I have been plagued with Japanese beetles eating my rose and blackberry bushes and apple and peach trees. Each day, during their peak period, I would go out with a cup of soapy water and knock them off the plants' leaves into the cup. Long, hot and ineffective process. So very impressed after day one, so far things look good.

These Truely Work!
This is my 2nd year of buying these bags for our small acreage. These have filled up fast with Japanese Beetles. I shake them out of the top of the bag into a trash pile rather then using the zip lock at the bottom as it tends to break or tear. If it does this, no worries, just use paking tape and rehang. It is the top center scent box that attracks them. We usually fill the bags up a couple or three times and then after a month the bugs are gone for the year. It literally saves all my trees, flowers and gardens. My neighbor has lost fruit trees in his orchard from those japanese beetles but now he buys these bags and has no more pests killing his orchard and gardens and flowers. They really do work!

Overall happy, but a few pitfalls
Overall, this trap works well. I purchased it because it claimed to be an all in one package.... Bag, bait, etc, so only one thing to buy. It is in fact all you need. I empty it about every 2 days (one bag on about 1/3 acre). I suggest you put it far from a deck or patio because beetles swarm this thing.I dislike:- the bag is pretty flimsy. The zipper regularly pops off and is a pain to put back on!-emptying the bag is definitely a two person job (one to hold a bag to empty, the other to unzip)-after a few uses these things get pretty nasty, especially if it rains. You may want hose it down after each emptying.-finally, the bait seems to be pretty weak now after about two weeks of use. I cannot seem to find replacements.Overall, it does a good job of catching beetles, just know what you're in for.

Beetle slayer
The media could not be loaded. I could not believe how quickly this began to work. Within probably 30 seconds, a beetle came to it. The video I uploaded was within the first 5 minutes of it being up! All the little black dots you see circling are Japanese beetles, you’ll see them slowly falling into the trap. It has now been 24 hours and the bag is probably 1/3 full, and it is a big bag. I’m incredibly satisfied with this purchase so far. One thing I did notice was once the sun was off it and the temperature had cooled a bit, there was less activity. Not sure if that’s because it was the evening and the beetles were less active or the lure wasn’t heating up enough to project fragrance. Regardless, I feel it’s incredibly effective, and easy tonassemble. I chose this trap because of the large bag that you can empty out and continue using. Other traps had reviews which stated the bags fill up too quickly, so I thought this would be more economical. I will purchase this again when needed, whether the beetle season lasts longer than the lure or next year. I will update if anything changes during this beetle season. Also, I live in the Midwest and was trying to protect my flowers (zinnias especially) as well as a medium-ish sized garden. The zinnias were being hit the hardest, though I did find beetles on a variety of other plants such as sunflowers, squash, and lettuce. Before this trap I was picking the beetles off by hand and— drowning them (not a great tactic really, but effective when you can grab them, it’s just impossible to keep up with). Would highly recommend.
