Excellent product
Quite simply, an excellent product. No complaints about it. It does what it was made to do and does it well while looking great.I've had this over six months and it still looks great. No knife cuts in it like edge grain boards get. I chop fast, the way you see those chefs on TV do. Its a little sticky till it gets used more as the blade digs into the board and is held by the fibers. This goes away with time. Just be aware of it when using sharp knives and fast chopping. Mine no longer grips as its been well used. Not that you could tell as it looks almost like new. This effect is normal with extremely sharp knives and fast cutting speeds. Control your speed or use cheaper knives till its broken in. It is possible to chip a quality knife by twisting when the fibers catch it.Great looking board, sturdy, heavy and long wearing. Just remember to properly oil it regularly which is not hard.

Beautiful cutting board!
I purchased this cutting board for my husband for Father’s Day and he loved it! The wood is absolutely beautiful and to this day looks beautiful. You do have to make sure to care for it correctly so it can last you a long time. The customer service at Daddy Chef is amazing! They respond quickly with any questions or concerns. I would definitely buy from this company again and again. My husband even started looking into their other products because of how much he loved the cutting board. It makes a great gift as well.

Well made and very attractive.
This cutting board is well made and very attractive. I like the size of it.Some reviewers have commented on how the surface became a bit rough after the first couple of uses. This is pretty typical for an end-grain board that was sanded (or surfaced) when dry, after it first sees water. It happened to my board. You can fix this by re-sanding the surface of board and re-oiling it. (I started with 150 grit sandpaper and worked through to 400 grit and oiled with food-grade tung oil). Or you can just leave the surface a bit rough - it won't affect performance.

rough surface
Good looking and sturdy cutting board, but the surface is rough. When oiling it up the first time, it shredded pieces off the paper towel. I contacted the manufacturer and they said it's "normal". The downside is, when I cut chicken on it, clean up was extremely difficult. It was almost impossible to get all the tiny bits because of the rough surface. Others said it could be "scraped" or sanded, but I prefer the manufacturer to finish making it before they ship it (I already have a job). Repacking and return it is not worth it. I use it to cut vegetables until it hopefully "wears in".Update; every company makes mistakes. If you don't, you're not working. It's what you do after that counts. This company stood responded admirably (and made me a big fan of their knives)

Customer service knows what they’re talking about.a
I cracked my board because I was dumb and didn’t pay attention how to care for it.Then this company is kind enough to replace my board (with a few words of advice) and gift me a jar of board cream to maintain it for years. Thanks Max.I bought my original board 6 months ago as a Valentine’s Day present for my wife. She loves it.It’s sturdy and pretty, especially after it’s sealed properly. Make sure you read how to do it right. This is the cutting board you want to keep around for a long time.

Perfect counter size for cutting a quick onion, bell pepper, or tomato, etc.
Daddy Chef 16 x 12 End Grain Wood Chopping block is perfect for cutting a quick onion, bell pepper, or tomato. Does not take up excessive counter space and the end grain has the professional look I was looking for. An added feature I definitely like is The short heavy plastic legs that keep the chopping block from sliding on the counter top. Definitely buy some food grade mineral oil to rub on each day for 7 days and then monthly thereafter to fully season the board. This keeps it from drying out and cracking over time. Great price for what you get. What more could you ask for?

Just gorgeous! Holds up to even hard chopping of cooked and raw poultry!
I love this cutting board, and it is so pretty, plus it keeps its looks despite being cleaned with a bleach solution! None of my other block cutting boards did that. It also doesn't get soft in the middle (rotting wood, I guess?) from water soaked wood. It is so pretty! I slipped it into our many standing cutting boards (mostly plastic ones but a few wooden ones) and my husband spotted it right away. It is a good price as well! I got this one because I obliterated our other one cutting up a large amount of chicken wings into drummettes and trying to copy the Chinese cooks who cut up hanging smoked ducks. I was very sad to have split open my other large butcher block cutting board, but was pleasantly surprised with this one! Would recommend without hesitation!

ugly quality
I just got this cutting board. I was so excited before I opened the box. However, this one has two cracks at the glue-jointed area. These are not common cracks that many wood products have but human made problems which were generated during gluing, pressing and drying. I'm really disappointed, and won't trust this company because this issue is really essential problem on the wood-joint process and related products.
