Pry Bar 4 Piece Set, 8-24 inch with Hammer Top

I just needed a couple Roy bars while changing my alternator. These came quickly and worked perfectly for my needs. They are really solid and I like the handle.

Needed a decent set of pry bars for working on vehicle suspension components. These arrived just in time; the day before a front end rebuild. No longer do i need to jack up the lower control arm, and pull down the upper ball joints into the knuckle, while trying to thread on the nut to the ball joint. a quick pull on the upper control arm with these beefy pry bars is all it took to complete the job. these are very solid bars, and the added solid end for hammering is very nice. Since the end of the pry bar is angled, i do not feel that hammering the ends will do too much, but hey, its there if you need it. all in all, very well made tools that don't break the bank. highly recommended from someone with almost 15 years of automotive experience

I recieved this set last week and have already used a couple of them. The package they came in is not durable or intended for long term storage. The grips on the bars are nice, easy to hold on to and thick enough to get a good grip. I like the strike plates, those work well and keep you from hammering directly on the grips. I was disappointed to find the shafts on the longer bars are only 3/8 inch thick, I was expecting them to be 1/2 inch. The shafts are painted/ coated with black paint, I guess, and i found that to be easily scratched off even by wood, now i hope the uncovered surface isn't prone to rust, but only time will tell. Overall these seem nice and sturdy for around the house jobs, but if you are looking for something to do heavy duty prying, i would spend more money and get a better set. If you just need something to do occasional prying of wood or to put tension on an engine belt during installation, these should work fine.
