Confidence, Thank You!
As a new wedding officiant I was a little nervous the first time so I picked up this book. It's very thorough and I filled a few holes in my process, added a few things to my checklist, and went in with more confidence. I'm flying out for my 3rd wedding, first destination wedding and I am so thankful to have read this. I bookmarked a bunch of pages and returned for my 2nd wedding and this third where I will perform my first handfasting.

Perfect Gift for Our Officiant
We purchased this book and gave it as a gift to my brother-in-law when we asked him to be our Officiant. He loved the book and said it was very helpful as a first time officiant!

Great for new officiants
I was recently asked to officiate a wedding for two friends. I had never done this before, and as I perused the internet for some info, I came across this book. It is the perfect place to start if you are new to this, as I was. It offers some insight on the ordination/deputization process, and then it will walk you through the types of ceremonies, the types of officiants, your role in all aspects of the wedding (pre-wedding, on the wedding day, and post-wedding). It also gives you ideas to make the ceremony unique and special. It should be noted that this does not have a full script or anything of the sort, although it does contain samples of phrases/greetings/etc that you can use at various points in the ceremony. If you are looking for more ideas for readings or scripts, it does provide some additional sources. I highly recommend for any new wedding officiant .

Very Practical Guide and Overview
I am officiating my sisters wedding in about six months and I thought this book gave a great overview and encouragement for first time celebrants. Officiating seems like a daunting task but this book does a great job of outlining the different planning phases and walks you through a traditional western ceremony. There are also “common sense” tips that I felt were great to have reinforced. Now I won’t be in danger of trying to steal the ceremony and ruining it for the couple and everyone else. It seems like much of the role of the officiant is to keep things progressing in an orderly fashion and otherwise staying out of the way!I would definitely recommend this to other first time officiants. I’m still nervous but this book gives me a very good blueprint for the next few months of planning the ceremony.

My one and only ceremony was completed with many tears, some complements and no regrets!
The guidance in this book was outstanding. I officiated my son's wedding and thanks to this book, I felt well prepared and not nervous at all. I followed the sequence recommended, omitting a few things that didn't pertain to our particular circumstance. My only slight regret is that I had to pause twice when I got a little choked up, but that only added to the memory that their officiant was emotionally engaged. :)Covid-19 will be over soon and one of our fond memories will be this pandemic wedding with the groom's father officiating.

PERFECT!
I bought this book because I was asked to be ordained to officiate a wedding less than two months out and this book gave me EVERY SINGLE THING I needed to do it successfully. I would give this 100 stars if I could--she covers every aspect, every type of union/wedding/commitment ceremony, great tips, great stories, and I would recommend this book to ANY officiant, but definitely for a first-timer, last-minute officiant like me!
