Works as Expected
I really like that it is easy to connect to my vehicle's battery and maintain the charge. I use it on my Explorer conversion van as it is not a daily driver and it works great. For what it does, it was a good purchase. No more sluggish starts. I connect it as soon as we return from a trip and have not had any issues. The display is simple and after selecting your battery type it does it's job. When not in use, I keep it with the tools I might need when traveling.

Works so well this is my second one.
The media could not be loaded. Works great for all my batteries. I like the percentage feature that lets you know the battery percentage charged. I was able to diagnose a battery that needed water added to it since it would not fully charge. After I added the distilled water the battery fully charged. Works great this is my second one. The other one still works I just use it as a battery maintainer on my truck. I have battery tenders and nocos this is the best one for the money. Quick charge and it shows the percentage charged on the display.

Still the one, second purchase of this item
This maintainer works like a champ. I have one that I have had for several years and it has worked well on my vintage car. Just purchased an electric start generator and have hooked it to the Second one of these items I have purchased. No doubt it will be ready to go when i need it. Good unit at a good price.

Works, but some caveats
This charger managed to charge my battery and then switched to maintain mode. I've had it for a couple weeks and attached it to the battery a couple times, and so far it's doing what it was designed to do. It's easy to use and the instructions seemed fine. But here's why I can't give it five stars:The instructions specifically say to ground the negative clamp to the car's frame. However, the amount of cable between the two clamps isn't a whole lot. I connected to the only piece of metal I could reach while leaving the positive clamp connected and the charger didn't recognize a proper connection. I ended up clamping directly to the negative battery terminal, which obviously worked, but is in contradiction to the manual. (In addition to the clamps, it comes with quick connectors which connect to both battery posts, so I really don't know why it doesn't just tell you to do the same with the clamps.) Give me more separation of the cable ends so I can reach a proper grounding point. The other issue is the readout of the current battery level seems low. The first time I used the charger, my interior lights would still turn on but I was just short of enough juice to turn over the engine. The charger said I was at 0%. Which obviously isn't true if the power locks, lights, radio, etc. were working. It took the better part of the day to fully charge and shift into maintain mode.I took the car out for a spin and then reattached the charger three days later. This time, it said that the battery was at 32%, but it was fully charged in less than an hour, which seems pretty fast if the battery was really that low.Overall, though, it did the trick. It seems to hit a decent middle ground of features and price, from a brand you've actually heard of.

Easy to use and efficient
I found this unit self protected and easy to use. You just have to pick between a lead acid or lithium battery and it analyzes it, tells you how much the battery has discharged and takes over from there charging and maintaining your battery at a slow amperage rate.

Simple and informative
This is the 2nd Schumacher battery Charger/Maintainer that I have purchased. It identifies the type of battery, checks its condition and lets you know all of the information. You just stand there and watch the screen.

Inexpensive, but does a great job
This is a basic, low-priced trickle-charger, but it's good quality. I'm not sure they still make it anymore though. The company website has only higher-priced ones listed.I need it to keep my car battery charged, because I drive so little in my old age. Without it, my batter goes dead between trips. FYI, I have a special car insurance which charges by the mile. I pay $1.09 a day, plus 3.8¢ per mile. That's for full coverage, including collision and comprehensive. When I did the math, it worked out to be less than half of what every other insurance company charges for the very same thing. ($400/yr, plus mileage.) But it only works for me because of how little I drive. Hence the need for a trickle-charger!The instructions with the charger says it cannot charge a car battery. Maybe they mean it would take too long to charge a big Caddy, because it worked to charge my dead battery in about half a day, back when I first bought it. I own a small SUV-ish car. Calling it an actual SUV is like saying my pony is a horse. It includes wires which can be permanently connected to the car battery. That comes in quite handy in my situation. I park my car, then plug in the charger. All set until next month! :-)

Excellent quality!
This is my 3rd unit. I use them on 3 vehicles in storage, on Winnebago, BMW Z4, bmw 128i. So easy to set up and the digital display is what I like. No guessing. Display gives status.

Excellent Product
Love it, have the 3 amp version and had great results with it, so decided to get 6 amp, to quicken the charge time on larger batteries, very satisfied.

Faulty
I ordered a Schumacher 1.5 amp battery maintainer from amazon, the day i received it and plugged it in it was faulty and would not charge, i filled in a return form from the amazon website and returned it to the registered parcel point dropoff 50kms away from the address i received it at, there amazon webpage has provision to do this if the product is faulty or does not work as intended, this did both, by taking the time to do what the webpage requested they said a for a FULL REFUND would be forthcoming and this was now 6 weeks ago and i am still waiting for my money to be returned, i kept my side of the bargain and Amazon has not kept there promise
