Awesome Upgrade for an Old Server
I bought an off lease HP Proliant DL360 G6 a number of years ago for a really nice price. It had 2x 4 cores, 8 thread processors. It served as my Proxmox virtualization server. I work in IT, and building multiple OS images can be so much easier when you test them all out side-by-side. I had a number of running machines and the performance was degrading. I needed more cores/threads for it to keep up with my work. I was debating upgrading to an off lease DL360 G8 to get the extra cores, but stumbled on this bad boy. Yeah, the processor is older but the price was right. I bought two of them and increased my core/thread count by 50%. I did have to do a BIOS update on mine for these to take at boot. Needless to say, I'm very happy with the upgrade (especially at the price that I snagged them at).

Well packaged for shipping
Part arrived in a plastic cpu holder and wrapped with lots of bubble wrap. Cpu was clean of thermal paste and worked perfectly when installed in my HP DL380 G6.
