The battery didn't want to fit, so I tore out the black foam pad in the battery area to make it fit. It seems to work now, but it is something that needs improvement. We will see how the pad works now that I got the battery in.

I haven't actually used the pad yet as it was bought as a replacement for the one (Vive) I'm currently using once it fails. I have however started using the monitor as it will work with the Vive pad (that monitor broke when dropped recently). My biggest dislike and the reason for a 3 star rating is that there is no way to cut it off before you get someone out of the chair. On the old Vive monitor, I simply pressed the button and it disabled it until I could get my wife up. With this one, I have to get her up and listen to it beep until I can get her turned around and into her wheel chair so my hands are free to hit the reset button. Major problem having to listen to that beeping.

Seems to be working well for my mother-in-law so far. She needs this for her husband who just came back from the hospital. She said it was easy to get set up and she said it the alarm sounds loudly enough for her to hear it whenever he gets up from his wheelchair. Not sure how long the battery will last and how quickly the device will drain it yet - so that remains to be seen.

This monitor is a wonderful product to have to insure the safety of my dad who has a tendency to get up out of his chair and walk quietly off into another room and risk falling. I wish we had known about a product so helpful as this months ago. The only problem I had with it, and it is not a big problem, was getting into the inside to insert the battery. The screw to the back is so small and the volume control is inside there, too. If I had the right size Phillips screw driver to begin with, it probably would have been easier.

Need an alarm for the chair a family sits in to prevent getting up without my knowledge and falling. It's not expensive and it works.

I ordered this item before and it came in the manufacturer box. This time, the same item came without the box. The product was just wrapped in plastic. I would have preferred the product to come, like before in the manufacturer box. Other than that the product was as described.

It was unclear to me and I questioned whether the product had wireless remote notification capability when I ordered it. It doesn't. It is made by the same brand that does have wireless remote notification on other products. This is the same as many other monitors that use a loud alarm right next to the patient, to notify somebody outside the room. I will use it as a backup only.

This chair alarm works pretty well for my elderly father. It's used on a large recliner, stays on well enough by tucking into the seat/back crease. Helps remind him when he attempts to get up without assistance. I would buy this brand again, will be looking for a bed alarm.
