Herbal Shampoo Treatment With 5% Urea 8 oz Natural Moisturizing Shampoo

I have always used Head & Shoulders and just recently discovered and researched the harmful chemicals that are in those types of shampoos (I learned that there were formaldehyde releasers, among other horrible things in these shampoos!!). So of course I wanted to make a healthier switch.I stumbled upon Nanette's Face & Neck Cream last year and saw an incredible difference in my skin. I loved the natural formula and how the itchy, red bumps on my cheeks disappeared. So trusting Nanette's formula, I decided I'd try the shampoo. I have always had a problematic scalp with extreme itchiness, flakes, and even scaly patches. Years ago I went to a dermatologist who diagnosed me with Sebhorric Dermatitis and recommended using special dandruff shampoos. Head & Shoulders had been the only thing that worked for me and my stubborn scalp-- I've tried too many products!When I first tried this product, I was skeptical. I had tried a more "natural" formula shampoo with tea tree oil in it before and it didn't work for me. & When I first saw the size of the bottle, I was a little surprised that it was so tiny and was scared because I have a LOT of hair. I thought for sure that wouldn't be enough. So with hesitation, I tried it. It's definitely different from regular shampoos... there's not a ton of suds when you lather it in (but this is a good thing, shampoos that do that have those chemicals you don't want!). When I massaged it into my scalp the first time, a lot of hair fallout happened. So much so that it kind of freaked me out. I thought, "just give it two weeks before writing a review.." Honestly, first try, I wasn't so convinced. However, even after just that FIRST wash, I noticed my hair was so much softer on my scalp. When I used to wash it with Head & Shoulders, it felt like my roots were coated with something and my hair felt weird and almost synthetic. After using this shampoo, it was the first time in years I felt what it felt like to have normal hair again.I continued to use it every other day, letting it sit on my scalp for a few minutes before rinsing. Now, I'm completely sold. No return of the flakes (which I've been anticipating and has yet to occur) and my hair feels healthier and softer. I have noticed way less hair fall-out during washings. My guess is that the initial fall-out was a transition period from the harsh chemicals that were in my scalp.Thank you Nanette, you've made a lifetime buyer out of me! Again, a very nice shampoo with “good for your hair” ingredients. It was just a little too drying for my type of hair. But I think it will be wonderful for those who get “the greasys/oily hair/scalp.

The reason I bought this was because suspected that I had a sort of scalp infection or imbalance after bleaching my hair. My hair smelled SO bad I can't even describe the smell it was awful. I was about to go to Japan and I was dreading being in public transportation but Covid-19 happened. I am the type of person that can go days and days without washing and my hair always smelled fine. When my fiance kept complaining right after I would shower I was devastated because I looked up smelly scalp syndrome and how people struggle with it their whole lives because of health problems. I was hoping it wasn't an underlying issue like thyroid or hormones. I had tried tee tree oil, avc, and stuff but I figured I would just try this right away. It took one bottle and my hair is back to normal. I did also start mega dosing Vitamin C that probably helped. I let it sit on my scalp as long as possible, massaging it in every day. The bottle probably lasted me about 3 weeks, I have a lot of hair and washed with my normal shampoo first then got my scalp with this. My hair could eat the whole bottle otherwise. It's a bit hard to work into your scalp, it's not very sudsy so I had to used a lot every day. I'm so happy that problem is gone!!!!!

I was not impressed, did not get rid of the dandruff.

Not a fan. Had high hopes it would help with my daughters dandruff (which nothing helps for more than a week) and this proved ineffective as well. In fact it made her scalp super dry and extremely flaky. Perhaps the Urea lead to the extra dry scalp, but over several days the flaking did not improve. Urea is great for dry, thickened skin, especially the feet and I use it on her feet 3 times a week and it keeps the build up of dry dead skin away, and has help get rid of foot and nail fungus as well. So I had high hopes Urea would be awesome in this shampoo. But not for her. Did nothing for my scalp either and I have mild dandruff. The other ingredients are all good ones (as far as I can tell), but I don't like the squeaky hair after rinsing this out. Doesn't hold a lather very well, which some natural shampoos don't so I wasn't' too surprised by that. Fragrance is a bit medicinal, not fresh or pretty, but again, some natural shampoos also tend to smell the same, especially if Tea Tree oil or similar oils are used. If it had helped, the scent wasn't a deal breaker. Was worth a try, but made things worse for her.

Worked great!! Wished it had possibly a lavender essential oil scent to it, it seems too plain. But that is a personal preference. But it is a great natural alternative to those harsh chemicals that are in retail brand dandruff shampoos. Overall I would recommend this product to others.

You need to use very little of this shampoo because it lathers well. Cleans without stripping all the natural oils and reduces hair loss. All around my favorite shampoo.

I love this line of products. I love the face and neck cream and thought I would give the shampoo a try. It is very nice. I would buy again. And it does help my problem scalp.
