Quiet and great value!
We are using this for my elderly mom who is bedridden. It's much better than a non-electric inflatable pad because this gently pulsates to help keep those bedsores away, which is critical with elderly. It's very quiet and so far it's working fine - in use constantly for 2 months. You can adjust the firmness too. Very pleased with this product!

Comfortable, easy setup, well made
Been using a gel mattress cover for my wife's bed. She is paralyzed except for one arm. Overnight the skin against the pad would show very red, sometimes painful. When this mattress arrived she was in her wheelchair. I added this mattress to her bed and when I put her back to bed she observed, "Oh, that feels good." She did not know I had added anything. Ten level pressure settings. We are using #1. Makes it easier to turn her and her skin does not look abused even after 10-12 hours in one position overnight. Only a few days use, but so far we are very pleased. Appears rugged and well made.

It Helps with one caution
Update: I discovered after several weeks of use that my hip began hurting. I have spinal stenosis. I think the pressure on one part of my spine caused my hip to hurt. I had to stop using the pad. Original review: I normally buy 4 inch foam toppers for our bed. When our latest one wasn't helping prevent night time body aches, I looked for something else. This alternating air system is great. I added a soft throw on top to prevent the cold air from reaching me (I like sleeping warm). I put it under our thin mattress cover and it doesn't move around at all. I have adjusted it down from 3 air pressure to 1. It's just enough to provide a cushion. It works great for me. I am 73 years old with arthritis.

For the most part, a good buy
I bought it for someone who has limited communication so they can't tell me if they find the pad more or less comfortable than the mattress without. It doesn't appear to be making them UNcomfortable, so that's good. They are about 140 pounds and is 80/20 bed to wheelchair...recently confined to bed while breakdown on the backside heals. With turning and this pad, there is less redness when there used to be more. It's relatively quiet; every few minutes you can hear a little hissing sound as the pressure changes but it's not disruptive. Really easy to set up; there are instructions but you can figure it out by looking, there aren't that many "moving parts". Took about 20 minutes to completely inflate (you cannot inflate while under the user, according to instructions). Even on the lowest setting, the inflated sections get pretty firm. I'm thinking that the firmness dial must refer to the firmness chambers deflate to. Inflation seems to go through 3 phases: all chambers inflated, then alternating rows deflate, repeat. At one point, I had to unplug to reroute the cord, and one day we lost power for about a half hour, and the bed didn't deflate so it seems it won't go flat the minute air is not actively pumping. It doesn't actually go from end to end on a standard hospital bed (referring to the parts of the pad that actually inflate, not including flaps). The pic makes it look like chambers go end to end so that's what I expected but If you put the inflating end starting at one end of your mattress, the other end stops about 5 inches short of going to the other end of the mattress (again, not including flap material). Now, it's unlikely most people go from end to end but you will probably have to decide which end will not have inflating chambers under part of it (are they longer in the torso or legs). I chose the head because their breakdown occurs lower body. Inflation chambers stop around the base of skull and with their pillow under their head, that area is covered up. There's not enough flap to keep it in place under someone who needs to be turned. There really needs to be a way to secure the pad all around because even longer flaps wouldn't prevent the lateral movement. I think the idea is for the sheet to hold it in place but it doesn't. When you are pulling pull-sheets and rolling someone back and forth, even your fitted sheet will shift, especially if the person is heavier and you're doing this solo. Full disclosure: there is a waterproof cover on the mattress underneath that may contribute to some slide, but I'm confident that even without, there would be movement when turning because nothing really anchors the pad. Velcro straps that go around the mattress would've been helpful. If the user is lighter weight and can assist in the process of turning you may have less of an issue with pad movement. Still, a fairly priced, quickly attainable item for those who need the alternating pressure but don't want the expense of a full mattress.

Comfort
I am 68 have fibromyalgia, lupus other medical issues and damage to my body. Even though I have an awesome 15" memory foam mattress that for normal people like my husband is great. Not so much for me! I love this! At first I thought hell no! It seemed weird. Now I can't lay in bed without it! We have an adjustable bed and it helps so much with sitting up. It also feels like acupressure. On my other mattress my body feels like it weights 1000 lbs when I weight 133. This takes all the pressure off of my body. The only thing I could say bad is it makes a sqeaky noise when you move and that when the beds at a sitting position it slides down. It's well worth the speaking and sliding to finally be comfortable and not in pain. I love it so much I bought a second one in case this one breaks! I recommend this highly for any person with muscleskelital pain. Thank you!

Not what I expected. Uncomfortablble
I am awaiting a two level lumbar spine fusion. My back feels like a knife cutting through. This air mattress fill like lumps and causing so much discomfort. I tried to work with it but it just isn't helpful. I am miserable enough. I don't have the box and want to return it. IT IS NOT ABOUT MONEY IT IS SUPPOSE TO HELP ME BE MORE COMFORTABLE. QUITE THE CONTRARY. I HAVE TWO SURGERIES ONE on CERVICAL SPINE WITH FUSION AND THE LUMBAR SPINE with two Fusion. I don't know if I could hurt more Please take this back. It is not helping and enhancing discomfort I am a loyal and frequent customer and this is serious to me.
